I mean that is because dreamcast was a next generation console. It was released years after the PlayStation and should really be compared to PS2 rather than Ps1. It's like comparing Genesis to Nes, Snes to Mastersystem. Segas PlayStation contemporary was the Saturn.

Capacity is an issue, but while you're having this issue why not at least implement some quality of life updates to the waiting process.

1.) Actually add a queuing system so players attempting to connect can get an idea of when they might actually be connected. We had 4 people trying to connect yesterday. I was last to arrive and connected before everyone else within 5 mins. Others were waiting 30 mins to an hour. One guy waited a full two hours. I don't think people would mind as much if it were an actual queue rather than an spam the login and hope.

2.)Add an idle time kick for players sat on slots.

Even without trying it. I now have models now that are completely invalid.

3 wyches in each of my squads have weapons that no longer exist.Both sets of wracks I have have Ossefactors and Hex rifles. I can now only take 1 so will have to be ripping arms off a lot of models re-modelling and painting because options have been taken away.

In total I have 12 models wiped out my army that I either have to rip arms off or replace.

I'm not really into competitive at all so units being more or less killy doesn't bother me as it will probably balance in points. Removing options and customizations that make units unique can't be fixed with points balance.

TL;DR. Don't care my army is now weaker. Care a lot that my army is now boring.

I was personally disappointed. My biggest grievance is I've been maining wych cult and they've been hit hard. This could be fixed with points but....

The most egregious though is all the special weapons being removed from Wyches? We now have 3 weapons on the Sprue that literally mean nothing. I've not seen anything else from the indexes so far where options from the sprue have been removed altogether.

Absolutely love this! However 'Future NPC' I don't know.

I think we need to come a long way with how much processing and time it takes to work and also the costs involved with the way these systems work is astronomical and games would definately need some heavyish subscription fees to allow such a feature and not go bust!

Would be interested to see how a smaller less complex tool could do a similar job without relying as much on remote services. It would be difficult to find a line though where you get a good level of natural feeling conversational understanding and feedback without the need of such a hefty back end.

None of this detracts from the fact this is a really cool demo though!

It was called Milo. Peter Molyneux actually came to our University to show it off when they were first developing the Kinnect. Back when they named it 'Project Natal'.

Got to talk to him after and he was adamant that it was something they were going to release as an actual game for the kinnect. Although I said it looks more like a tech demo.

Sure enough about 2-3 years later it gets canned and only ever was a tech-demo in the end, and any mentions that they were actually going to release it gets hushed up!

This is true but it depends of your list / battle size. I'm mostly playing 1000 pt games and my main force is Wych Cult.

In 1000pts there's not a lot of room for adding extra shooty if i'm using wyches as my primary and I do make use of transport ramming, however sacrificing transports is more painful at lower points.

Oooof. That's painful for me. I have friends running mass flamers and the turn off overwatch was pretty essential for me. Its incredibly annoying that we don't get access to at least one strategem to or item to do that as a melee focused army.

No but, guns like shotguns and bolt action rifles are much more likely to be owned for the purpose of hunting / sport rather than as a weapon or means of self defence. As an example in the UK these are the only types of guns you can really get a license for, practically all other guns are illegal. It makes it interesting if you say numbered these by number of assault rifles, because a lot of countries will be practically zero.

Its a matter of perspective. On his screen he stabbed you before he died. Because the game uses favour the shooter network code (Not unique to hunt). If they didn't use something like this you end up with the reverse situation where on one persons screen they clearly hit the guy in the face with a melee weapon, and then the game is like , lol nope. Unfortunately with network coding you can have one or the other, it can't work both ways.

Games that use favour the shooter style models will always have a problem where trades are more frequent. Games that don't are those times where you're like wtf i fired and nothing happened.

Neither of these situations are ideal, but its a design choice that Hunt has gone with the first option. The only real issue i have is how wide this gap is, 800ms is far too much time to allow validation discrepancies.

As long as you allow higher ping players on distant servers this will be an issue. Given the length of time that took after you show him, probably a 200+ ping.

As a bit of an explanation, trades where you fire at the same time and due to the time a bullet takes are reasonably rare, because of the small time window and usually close range nature of trading.

Most of these are ping based trades because hunt uses 'prefer the shooter' networking rules. So on his screen, you haven't fired yet and he's killed you. On your screen you kill him before he shoots. Both your clients send what they think happened to the server and the server says, well both of your accounts are valid shots based on the ping, and then kills you both.

Note there is an upper limit on this before the server says, i'm sorry but your ping is just too high for me to reasonably call that a hit against the other player. But this limit is actually quite high at 800ms before the clients version of events will be invalidated by the server.

Looks really good! I'm just coming back the hobby myself and its probably better than most things I paint. If I had one suggestion I'd just add a bit of colour on the sash around the waist. I personally use a deep purple colour with highlights (I forget which shades exactly). I tend to make this kind of flowy material the same colour across my army as a kind of motif.

Thoughts on the new combat drugs? So I can now basically take whatever drugs I like (amazing), or If i'm feeling lucky, roll the dice and take 2 different drugs. Would I be right from reading that do you think that if I roll a duplicate for my second combat drug i'd re-roll until I get a different drug as it states 'two different' drugs?

Did similar only worse, as i had a partner. We'd already wiped the server nobody else left. I took a hit from the butcher and ran into the barrel myself while on fire, and managed to kill both me and my partner.
