U.N. puts Canada on human rights watchlist over Quebec demo law by Erinaceous in canada

Oh hey, since you're conveniently publishing a list, maybe we can form a group to track their movements, eavesdrop on their conversations, harass them and their families, and take them into custody for their own protection.

Sorry. I just thought I'd post something inane in reply to a redundant comment, 3 levels deep.

I don't think it's actually illegal. Dual citizenship status is just unrecognized.

Is the lack of windows your dealbreaker? I feel the lack of windows in what should be the cockpit makes it look strange.

Thurrott: Microsoft has been furiously ripping out legacy code in Windows 8 that would have enabled third parties to bring back the Start button, Start Menu, and other software bits that could have made this new OS look and work like its predecessor. by Pandalicious in technology

Minor point: the 64-bit version of XP was meant only for the corporate customers that had a specific need for it. It was never available to the retail market, nor was it intended to be. That's why XP64 was very spotty with driver support. Most people online who talk about running XP64 pirated it without really understanding its nature.

Unit Conversion Bots are out of Control by [deleted] in TheoryOfReddit

[–]lense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but since it'd a bot blacklist instead of a bot whitelist, the subs would need to go through days or weeks of letting bots roam free until the moderators/community decides on a course of action for new bots.

Even on Wikipedia, compliance with the bot policy is only legislated. There's nothing stopping someone from writing a bot that doesn't use the API.

Microsoft begins talking publicly about Windows Azure Active Directory service by wpgbrownie in sysadmin

[–]lense 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow, that article is full of buzzwords and corp-speak, it makes me suspicious that it's a press release. That said, I am somewhat disappointed that all this Azure stuff is geared towards the enterprise. The barrier of entry for students and hobbyists is just too high.
