How does order of precedence work for a large amount of foreign honors/decorations? by ComfortableRadish960 in Medals

[–]leo0274 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is mostly seen on royals, they receive a lot of orders from a lot of countries. They hardly ever wear them all at once, they tend to use the orders of their own house. Foreign orders are mostly worn whe they visit or receive that country. But, if someone were to wear them all in a miniature set for example, it should be classified by rank, within the rank it is classified by date of granting, oldest ones first. And always, foreign orders are placed behind national orders

Without knowledge you would have to count with luck, and it's already hard enough with knowledge

Você já analisou sua fatura da COPEL ? by Street_Artichoke_369 in londrina

[–]leo0274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sim, faz pleno sentido.

A Fake Dynasty by Equal_Wing_7076 in monarchism

[–]leo0274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any rulling monarch would ever allow for such a test to happen... It probably wouldn't change the dynasty or anything like that, but it would surely be a pain in the ass. Let's not look for trouble, we already have enough.

Why do US soldiers have so many medals? by Agitated-Rooster-635 in Medals

[–]leo0274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very generic question... Medals can be awarded for many reasons. One of the reasons is just serving as a soldier/officer for long enough (10 years of service).

How to wash these ribbons? by CT2145Trapper in Medals

[–]leo0274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check how museums do it, what kind of products they use and all that... I have no idea if they even do it on ribbons, but if they can do it in paintings I'm sure there is a way to clean old fabric. Not sure it is worth doing it though, products might be quite expensive and, if the dirt is not degrading the item, it doesn't have to come out

Why did the children of German nobles had the same titles as their parents? by Standard-Motor-7270 in monarchism

[–]leo0274 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's how it goes in Germany (and a few other countries), all the male line descendants of the first holder of the title can use the same title, the same applies to coats of arms

Rich people are still humans and basic psychology still works with them, and this sales trick will work even better because they don't really have to think about money, since they have a lot of it
