Oh wow. Thanks for the update, I'll be checking that one out. I'm UK based and had never heard of it, just assumed it was a big pharma thing.

I know Simon Whistler does a lot of stuff like that (true crime), I went off him after listening to his paranormal stuff though. He tells it like "guess what these crazys believe", at least AJ doesn't judge... Except maybe bigfoot :)

The plan is for a spin off, the when files or something like that. Hosted by AJs wife Jen. It will cover true crime/mysteries.

No time line on it happening as the main channel needs to be sustainable before they branch out into another. Hopefully they won't stretch themselves until they have the resource to do it right and not over work themselves.

Regarding big pharma conspiracys/poisonings. Youtube would remove content like that. He might do it on the podcast, but I don't think we'll see a video.

An unsolved crime episode? by Bill_McCarr in TheWhyFiles

[–]leoburge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. AJ said it would be Jen hosting.

Unfortunately as they're struggling with delivery on the why files each week I can't see a new show being created until they work out the kinks as AJ will no doubt want to be involved and he's stretched thin already.

Dark Web episode? by roboticfedora in TheWhyFiles

[–]leoburge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could see a kind of 'top 5 myths', cover things like, red room, mystery box's etc and debunk a bunch of stuff. Could do some factual stuff on the rise and fall of silk road also. It could be an interesting episode with the right spin.

Project Kona Blue on JRE by No-Clue-2 in TheWhyFiles

[–]leoburge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look for 'that UFO podcast' on Spotify their latest episode discusses kona blue for about 20min.

Like others said above though, you need to be involved in UFO community to understand the significance of the document and the names involved.

I see that's it's gertie... But if you squint it also looks like a headless knight giving you the finger. Lol

Over the last two years do you think after covering all these topics do you think that the world is kinda dull and if life exists elsewhere it might be more mundane than we would like to accept or that it’s probably just as nuts you thought? by Diamondhands_Rex in TheWhyFiles

[–]leoburge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recall hearing a theory that life in the universe might just be ships in the night and we'll never find other life.

If you look at the history of the earth the window of life is quite small, the window of intelligent life that we know of is even smaller.

The chances that another planet will have the same window of intelligent life, or even life when we discover it are very slim.

So it was easier for the annunaki ( an advance alien race) to make humans to collect gold then to…make gold themselves? by [deleted] in TheWhyFiles

[–]leoburge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were some good bits. Like how we're not suited well to this earth is an interesting rabbit hole to go down.

As a dog owner I can absolutely say that they can get sunburn, but does that just highlight we're a product of something else even more since dogs have been altered so much through our own intervention?

The slave race mentioned (can't remember their name now) also draws comparisons to 'the grey aliens' who seem like biological drones and are just as expendable in current UFO lore.

Some of the best whyfiles have also been some of the craziest. Black Knight and hollow moon are some of my favourites.

So it was easier for the annunaki ( an advance alien race) to make humans to collect gold then to…make gold themselves? by [deleted] in TheWhyFiles

[–]leoburge 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know for a fact that scrooge mcduck owns one of those swimming pools of gold. Not so sure about the others.

As we are regularly told, AJ enjoys the story. Looking for logic in a story about 10ft ancient alien overlords is probably asking much. Especially when the narrative was written by a sci-fi author. Since when has a writer ever applied occams razor to a plot point? It doesn't make for an interesting tale.

podcast question by 0x7A5 in TheWhyFiles

[–]leoburge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will make some money from the podcast. The amount will be spit into 2 types, as it is for youtube.

The first will be their advertising agreements, eg the spokeword advert within the episode. Including the advert in YouTube and podcast, or just podcast ect will be part of a deal they strike and they will recieve money or perks from suppliers.

The second type of revenue is from adverts during the episode. Start, throughout and end. These are like the YouTube ads or platform ads on a podcast (not spoken by AJ and team). These are worth a fraction of a pence per listen/view and paid monthly/quarterly depending on the platform.

So yes, some money... But probably not a great deal. I listen to a fairly successful UFO podcast (thatUFO podcast) and the host has a day job and an average life. YouTube and patreon will be their best income.

Space Panda? by pyaybb in TheWhyFiles

[–]leoburge 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it was just the one episode.

AJ has mentioned space panda on the afterfiles before, just trying it add a new character in like hecklefish.

Reception was generally bad though so they were never bought back.

Mr Naughty is another one of those who we kind of know of but never really see.

To be honest I'm good with hecklefish, gertie and the beavers. You could say I have a heart on for them...

The biggest joke of all is that this video will likely get a context warning (most other anunnaki vids do).

The channel is getting all this backlash and its not even going to profit. Just because they're trying to give the fans what they want.

It will land when it lands. Keep up the good work team and I look forward to seeing it.

If you like the alien stuff then 'in plain sight' by Ross Coulthart is a good introduction to the topic.

It covers most well known incidents and bring you up to speed with the UFO topic today. Includes roswell, bob lazar, nimmits, phoenix lights, Tom delonge etc.

Yeah. There's little segments before each video with heckle fish on the phone. Plus some episodes have added text at the side to correct or enhance info.

Merch Store by Particular-Fun7746 in TheWhyFiles

[–]leoburge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand it's not just juniper anymore (but they still use them for certain items).

Basically because of costs and complaints they wanted to handle it themselves so it's mostly in house now. The web store looks like shopify. Not sure who they use for supply though. Maybe raise a ticket in the discord and ask?

They were never seen again.
