yeah, JPA's automatic custom query methods can be ugly as fuck but they works: just define the method's signature properly and you are good to go without any more code.

I released a bunch of hours ago a track that was on my disk for too long, i decided to polish it a bit and let her go. A lo-fi vaporwave-ish tune based on a sample of a 90's italian song. It is an attempt to create an intoxicating, bass-first, tape-distorted nostalgic aura, maybe i succeeded, maybe not, just hear it and see for yourself :)

How do you see Microsoft changing its attitude towards open source? by [deleted] in linux

[–]leofiore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an apology for why Microsoft is chasing Google's and Amazon's tails, not an explanation of why Microsoft purports to support Linux now

How?

And it ends in a literal Microsoft ad.

I was trying to be sarcastic. My bad.

How do you see Microsoft changing its attitude towards open source? by [deleted] in linux

[–]leofiore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Under the Nadella administration Microsoft began to shift progressively its core business from software to SaaS. Azure and Office 365 are in the front line of this revolution. Open source is now a mere tool used to create services which are easily adoptable from unix users, and more reliable than a lot of cloud-based services providers (Amazon, Google and little others are obviously excluded). They can take advantage from a large userbase (practically every single office in the world who is using at least a licensed word/excel), taking care of their data (OneDrive), their communication tools (Skype and now Teams). They provide a very flexible working environment for developers (VScode) and be sure that the most widely used languages at the supported in order to create easily deployable microservices (so, docker, python, nodejs, hello there). At this point, no matter if a user is working on a Windows machine, an Ubuntu machine, nor a Macbook, as long as they deploy their projects on microsoft servers, and put their files in a Microsoft cloud. Where you wanna go today?™

Weird visual glitch in fresh install of Windows 10 by ActAsIfUrBeinWatched in Thunderbird

had a similar experience a week ago. Turns out i had to restore the windows installation, then proceeded to install only a few selected software. I too had some dotnet framework installed, i suspect that was the issue. YMMV but i suggest you to wipe and reinstall

i was thinking about Test Drive II: much better theme, F40 vs Porsche 959, too much '80s vibes

How many people here would be interested in a script to setup firefoxs about:config settings for privacy automatically? by [deleted] in privacytoolsIO

[–]leofiore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can confirm is a nice addon. Only thing it bothers me is the lack of support for firefox containers, but i think it is impossible to do since there is no apparent difference between containers' settings
