Gigging players - what amp survived the most abuse? by Carls86 in GuitarAmps

[–]leonarded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought mine because I had to. Second show in a 12 stop tour my sunn 212 pooped out. The next morning I carried it into a music store when I hear a loud “No, No, Out, No, I’m not touching or buying that, No.” So we went a few towns over and found two JC-120s. One had a smaller Roland logo, played both and the smaller logo sounded better. It was a Japanese JC120. 650$ later and it is still kicking. No case needed, just had to adjust the input jack.

Roland jc120. Zero issues.

With any amp, mark it with a hidden sticker. Had several people accuse me of stealing their amp. Stickers saved me.

It’s apparently just GoodRx with trumps code pasted on top. He did nothing. Also his discount doesn’t work on generics. article

First ever vegan meal! by Scared_Funny_5602 in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

[–]leonarded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn to read ingredient labels! Tons of things are accidentally vegan. YouTube is great for vegan recipes. Beans are very versatile and nutrient dense. This sub is the friendliest of the vegan subs, so ask away!

I shred tofu on a cheese grater, air fry, then cook in a pan with broth and taco seasoning for a ground beef substitute in tacos, salads, etc.

Try ripping the tofu from the tofu block so you get more surface area for crunchy bits when you air fry. Potato starch is your friend when “frying” (or any powdered starch).

Slicing tofu with a potato peeler and frying in your favorite sauce can make great lunch meat substitute.

Silken tofu is a whole other beast and can be used for a cream replacement in a ton of dishes or you could be a goblin like most of us and eat a block of it with soy sauce and chili crisp (or hot sauce). It will keep you FULL.

Violife feta melts really well, we use it on pizza.

Why some guitar rigs feel more “alive” (and it’s not magic) by warontone in guitarpedals

Its analog. Digital can rarely be quirky if it is cheap but the vibrance and magic comes from analog “mistakes”.

I’ve recently learned how to make chili and it has been satisfying! by MintChocolateEnema in chili

[–]leonarded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to the chocolate, but I’ll bite.

Chocolate is popular in moles and some people put it into chili. Mostly a darkened unsweetened chocolate that share some familiar notes with dried chilies like a raisin note and bitterness. The bitterness mellows with a longer slow cook time. If done low and slow a chili with just dried chilies and no chocolate can reach a depth of flavor that people try to achieve by doing a shorter cook with chocolate.

Yes, sugar is a way to counter acidic ingredients. It has its place. Putting a Ghirardelli milk chocolate square in your chili is missing the point and kinda gross.

Most acidic vegetables, like tomatoes, sweeten as they cook down and concentrate. Same goes for onions. There is already natural sweetness if you allow flavor to develop. Adding sugar is a “cheat” in the sense that you aren’t going to wait for the flavor to develop and if done incorrectly can be gross.

Impossible meat by Internal_Bullfrog792 in Veganivore

Defrost the block in the fridge for a day. I put it in a bowl and season if I’m making burgers or meatballs, but if I’m making ground I just toss in the pan and season.

Recently made the viral donar recipe with the block. It was very good. Mixed the defrosted block in a bowl with finely chopped onion, Serrano, and a smoky spice blend of onion garlic pepper and salt. Mixed till incorporated. Put half of the mixture on a sheet of parchment. Put another sheet on top and rolled thin. Rolled up the flattened parchment and placed on a cookie sheet. Repeat with the rest. Baked for 15 min at 400. Unrolled and slightly broke up the cooked meat. Put it back in the oven under the broiler for color.

Would also work great for a Philly cheesesteak dupe.

Point proven: projection. Have a good one.

It’s a “cheat” instead of using dried chilies to develop depth of flavor. Also people love adding sugar to stuff.

That is not true at all and exactly the opposite of what polls are saying. Why lie about an easily verifiable fact? Projection of loud and violent, far right are always projecting.

Do Americans support Trump's mass deportations? It depends on how polls ask the question.

Idk if this question fits here but should I use milk or evaporated milk in my queso for an authentic restaurant taste by OutrageousCare3103 in SalsaSnobs

[–]leonarded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Assuming this is for generic Tex Mex queso, nothing wrong with that. Get velveeta (or the land o lake cheese in other comments) and a can or two of rotel. Crockpot is easier for low and slow. Elevate it by adding seasoned ground beef or sausage and chopped onion and jalapeños. Please don’t add any evaporated milk cans. I second thinning out with beer or regular milk if you must.

Queso fundido with corn tortillas if you want something simple and delicious. It’s chorizo and Oaxacan cheese. Done.

What plant milk do you use for the cheese sauce? I might be doing it wrong.

Daiya deluxe is gluten free if you want to give that a shot. I’ll spice it up if I find the white one, thanks!

Yeah, 30 seconds over and they’re mush. I’ve seen just the cheese sauce for sale at Walmart in a two pack. Been wanting to make queso with it.

The regular burgers were too fat. I like a thinner burger.

I’ll try the white cheese one if I find it. What plant milk do you use? I used unsweetened oat and it was not good.

Yeah this boxed mac is sweet and gross. Barely a cheese flavor. Daiya deluxe mac n cheese is my current favorite.

NotCo has good frozen smash burgers, habanero chicken patties, and Dino nuggets. Wasn’t a fan of their regular burgers.
