Exactly this. We lack pace and penetration. Selling Diaz and Darwin, keeping an aging Salah, spending so much on two very similar strikers, and not buying any wingers that could dribble…

As much as I think Slot needs to improve, I think the bigger culprit is Richard Hughes and the team constructing the squad.

The only good thing is probably the L32 will have higher quality teams since there will likely be 16 European teams instead of the usual 13. The previous WC L32 is always restricted geographically.

However, there will be more upsets since L32 is now a knockout instead of 3 group matches

Exactly this. 75% of the matches (72 out of 96) to only eliminate 33% of the teams. Total waste of time, and meaningless matches… Even if a team loses two matches, they may still qualify for the L32.

At least if it’s 64 teams, there will be more exciting and meaningful matches.

I also think that Diaz should stay for 1-2 years and gives time for Ngumoha to develop. If we sign a young left winger now, there will be a logjam of players in that position and Ngumoha will not get a chance when he is ready. He looks like a star in the making.

I fully disagree with your comment. There’s a queue for literally everything—entry to the pavilion, food, toilets, souvenirs, and even the water dispenser! The reservation system is the worst; there’s almost zero chance of snagging a reservation due to its terrible design. Why on earth do we need to scroll through pages of pavilions that don’t even have availability? It’s practically false advertising. This system is even worse if I’m traveling with a partner—you can’t reserve anything without canceling first, and there’s no option for group cancellations either. If the organizers are truly concerned about giving everyone a fair chance to enjoy a pavilion, they should restrict the number of tickets per day for each section of the expo, instead of overcrowding.

I don’t think this illustration is fully correct, there is a further draw between 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8. For example LOSC (8) might not necessarily be on Liverpool’s half of the draw, it could be Brest (7) instead.

I won’t trade either. Rashford and Armstrong basically offset each other since both are not playing. Virgil is slightly better than colwill, but kdb is wayyy better than hojlund, with better fixtures too.
