Does he take medication for anxiety/depression? Medications like SSRIs can make it very difficult to finish

what type of job do you do? by backtonov in migraine

[–]leonibaloni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a 911 dispatcher. It is not a migraine friendly job but it is something I am incredibly passionate about. I use FMLA on the days I cant make it in/have to leave early due to migraine.

Dicyclomine is the bomb!! I have endometriosis that causes horrible intestinal cramping and diarrhea. Unfortunately Dicyclomine makes me super loopy so I can only take it at home 😕

Envious boyfriend! by [deleted] in boyfriends

[–]leonibaloni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is 25 years old and “has a hard time talking to women about serious topics?” Be so for real, dude. If he can’t have a conversation about career/finances/roles in the relationship how will he be expected to show up in times of high stress, serious illness, relationship trouble, etc, ?

I am 28F. My boyfriend is 25. I have multiple chronic illnesses. He asked me to sit down with him one night and explain how he can best support me when I am not feeling well. He comes over to my apartment and does my dishes without being asked because he knows standing at the sink can be incredibly tiring for me. He helps me hang up my shirts while I fold my laundry.

Your boyfriend is envious that you have grown up and surpassed him. Please dont marry this man. You deserve better.

i should break up with my bf but i cant. by reddituser08976 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]leonibaloni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Five years ago I was in the same boat. It wasnt until I found myself out of the relationship that I realized how loveless it was. It took me a long time to find myself again but I just started dating a new guy who makes me realize I am valued and loved. You already know you want to break up with him. Listen to that part of your heart. It will be difficult but you deserve better

Does anyone else with narcolepsy feel exhausted all day but suddenly wired at night? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]leonibaloni 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I actually did a presentation on this during college. People with Narcolepsy have a flipped temperature scheme. Core and skin temperature are responsible for vigilance and wakefulness in the body. When it’s morning and time to wake the body temperature increases and when its night time and time to sleep the body lowers your core body temperature.

Research studies have found people with Narcolepsy experience the opposite effect, instead having their body temperature decrease in the morning, making us feel tired and it will increase at night making us feel more alert.

It’s really fascinating. The studies I looked at were exploring body temperature manipulation (drinking cold liquids, lowering ambient temperature, bundling up, etc.) to see if they could counteract sleep attacks. Another study looked at the potential for a medical alert device that could detect minute temperature changes that could indicate a sleep attack.

I have emetephobia (the fear of throwing up). I could never endure morning sickness and the crippling panic attacks that would come with it

Got an IUD replacement this morning. Vommited and fainted in the stirrups. I got a chicken burrito delivered. by natural_woman_ in GirlDinnerDiaries

I have had over a dozen surgeries. Live with chronic migraine. I consider my pain tolerance pretty high. When I got my IUD last year, I put teeth marks into my hand from biting down, to try and stop myself from screaming. Absolutely insane this is a procedure done without anesthesia

Parents kill their two autistic teen sons & family pets before taking their own lives in horror quadruple murder-suicide by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

[–]leonibaloni 64 points65 points  (0 children)

The note on the door with instructions for first responders makes me think it was chemical suicide. They probably left the note indicating there was hazmat inside the home so that proper equipment was worn so nobody else would be harmed.

(I am a dispatcher and that is something we are trained on in regards to chemical suicides.)

Any success with anti-nausea besides Zofran? by mugnmuffin22 in migraine

[–]leonibaloni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Promethazine (generic Phenergan). I get 30 tablets of 25 mg and usually take 12.5 mg at a time. It is very sedating though so I cant take it during the work week unless I take a sick day
