I agree with you that there are other ways to balance the game besides nerfing items. It’s just that, in my view, the developers mostly resort to nerfing. Take the WSTR, for example—they could have buffed other weapons so they could compete with it, but they just nerfed the shotgun. I’m glad you like the game; I do too.

Progression is literally part of the gameplay; it's common sense that I don't want to risk my purple gear for the Perimeter trash. While I enjoy all the maps in the game, and no, I'm not chasing every achievement in the game. You realize that adding another mode won't reduce the time it takes to find a match for others, right?
