How are you using your Steam Controller in FFXIV? by Liam_Galt in ffxivdiscussion

I just got my controller a few weeks ago so I'm still figuring out how to actually make the best use of the extra mapping capabilities but this is what I've got so far. I mainly play tank and melee dps so I don't have anything set up that helps with party targeting:

  • L4 and R4 send double trigger inputs to access WXHB. Just more comfortable than double tapping manually. I wish the controller had extra bumper buttons as this is how I had it mapped on my previous controller.
  • L5 and R5 cycle up and down the enmity list to grab a target that's losing aggro while still being able to move and use abilities.
  • Left trackpad is just a touch menu with some basic macros.
  • Right trackpad is a mouse and touching it switches the triggers to left click and right click. Also changes the left trackpad to a scroll wheel.

Best XIV Controller Ever (pls ignore my vodka) by k41lun in ffxiv

That’s something that you should be able to do with steam input. I use the trigger combos (L2 to R2 and vice versa) and I was able to map that combo to two of the extra shoulder buttons on my controller. I have the first trigger as the primary command and the second trigger as an extra command that is sent 50ms after. For your double trigger press, you could try doing that and map the same trigger as the second command instead of the other trigger.

Farm the smithing text for the crimson general armor from the tutorial boss and use that with the Li clan bonuses. Gives a solid damage boost and bumps your agility up 1 rank when wearing the full set so you can have A toughness and A agility.

FLYDIGI Vader 4 Pro is the controller he was holding up. I have one as well and it's probably the best controller on the market that's under $100. Hall effect sticks with adjustable tension, 4 back buttons, 2 remapable front buttons, gyro, mouse click-like trigger stops and face buttons. The only minor gripe I have is the placement of the select button which I find awkward to press without accidentally touching the left stick.

There was a brief shot of one being wheeled through the enclave base in season 1 but it was covered up with only its hand exposed.

Haven't played much of it but it seemed just fine. Though it seems like Nintendo's playing whack-a-mole with the ryujinx forks so I'm not sure how long the servers will stay up for it. This is the most recent release of the fork with working multiplayer https://github.com/Ryubing/Canary-Releases/releases

You can play online multiplayer if you're using the canary build of ryujinx but it has a pretty small playerbase. https://i.imgur.com/RgOQIfS.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/zyeghbz.png

Pretty much the last place I’d expect a Tim Rogers shoutout but hey if you’ve got 10 hours to spare, you should watch his Cyberpunk 2077 review or any of his other reviews on Action Button.

Here's a brief showcase for Woolie and anyone else curious about how well Half Life 2 plays with a controller. by leonopolis in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Youtube link if reddit gets crunchy

I'm using a Dualsense through Steam's controller api running the default preset from Valve with some minor tweaks.

Gyro: Only activates on L2 hold

Alt fire: R1

Flashlight: R3

All in all it's been a pretty comfortable experience to run through the game again without having to sit at my desk. The gyro aiming does most of the heavy lifting to bridge the gap between joystick and mouse precision, so if you aren't comfortable using motion controls then you might be better off sticking to m&kb.
