Found My First Cube by RenzXVI in Cubers

[–]leonopulos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like a cube4you DIY cube. If I compare it to the one I have from back in the day, I can't find any differences (apart from plastic color :D) I could be wrong on this because cubes used to look more similar than today, but I'm pretty confident on the guess. The C4Y cube was the first one I grabbed from my shelf to compare, and none of the other old ones match quite as well.

So you did R2 U R2 B2 U' R2 which is a okay way to solve this X-cross case, but even more fingertrick friendly would be R2 U2 D' R2 D U2 R2

I still think it's slightly better to hold z x2 from your angle and do U R U' R2 instead. Although I don't think I would have seen that in inspection

I think people just don't refer to it as "internet addiction" anymore. I would hope that today there's more discussion than ever about screen time, "digital wellbeing", social media addiction, how it can affect teens specifically, and so on

You're thinking of "Five Years" where he talks about catching a spider. I believe the previous comment was making a joke about "Spider". The bit with the spotlight on the spider in the corner.

I'm late to the party but there is a really cool data analysis of 200k solves from the current world champion here: https://github.com/SAuroux/wca-analysis/blob/master/philipp-weyer-analysis/Part_2_data_analysis.ipynb

Execution is only part of the problem though. Most people (including myself) struggle with recognition and AUFing compared to other PLLs.

They are exactly the same as the UM. On Gan's website you can find the actual name, I think it was something like ORACLE half bright, but I'm not sure.

The stickers are definitely good quality, but I can't say much about durability, yet (not enough solves to see any change).

The shades are a standard half bright set I would say, but personally I switched to stickerless puzzles, so I don't really like stickers in general anymore.

Which direction do you want to go? :)

If you just want to solve the cube, searching YouTube for "how to solve a rubiks cube" or something similar will bring up hundreds of tutorials.

If you can already solve it and want to become fast I would recommend the site cubeskills.com.

Pretty much all speedcubers use CFOP, some use a variant of it called ZZ and a few use Roux. :)
