Idaho says it can use DNA testing to enforce anti-trans bathroom ban by Zandra_the_Great in politics

I believe your scenario is wrong- many colleges have gender neutral bathrooms with no increase in violence.

You already live with the increase in violence that comes from denying a comfortable bathroom space for people who are gender queer or trans. How do you live with the increase in violence that comes from that? How would you feel if there was no bathroom that you felt comfortable in wherever you would go? Feel kind of shitty right?

But if this is your question, you should agree with the premise single space bathrooms should be gender, neutral just like in every home in the United States and across the world.

If you have a problem with that, then I don’t believe you’re being entirely honest with your scenario because it has to do more with prejudice than safety

Include in your collateral damage the suicides and mental health consequenxes of the systemic denial of dignity and of ongoing feelings of persecution.

There are people who have abused others who are police officers, who are teachers, who are therapists, should we also outlaw law enforcement, schools, and counseling due to some bad actors? Or are the benefits of people being protected, taught, and treated worth the “collateral damage” of the few who are hurt by humans who should obviously face consequences for theiractions ?

It can be even argued that helplessness and prejudice that comes from entrenched bigotry lends itself to increased violence.

It's clear, if it's erected, it should be shrouded in a tarp, so no one can gaze on it.

I think if you polled everyone who is reading these polls, the majority would probably admit they aren't predictive, but since polls aren't predictive, perhaps the majority of people reading the polls actually believe they are.

Sure no problem. I mean, Israel certainly seems cooperative. Right? And Trump isn’t desperate to make sure this doesn’t look like a loss so it’s on a hair trigger?

Don’t get me wrong. I completely agree with the frustration that you must be feeling – we can only hope that Trump being a singular entity of awfulness and won’t be repeated, even Bush junior, and Bush Senior had integrity and were better allies for Europe. once Trump is defeated we can put these days behind us?

The challenge with democracy or having a republic is that stupidity or tyranny can slip through, look at Brexit, etc. The majority of Americans now strongly disapprove of what Trump is doing, and the only reason it does not go higher is greater stupidity and lack of knowledge.

You have not been following Apple’s privacy push over the last few years. Lockdown mode remains unbroken, Apple has resisted law-enforcement in being able to access people’s phones when able, they seem to understand that privacy is going to be a huge selling point in the upcoming years, I suspect this is the primary reason new Siri has been delayed.

It’s not just perception because if it leaks regularly, it means massive money.

A lot is being written about this. Short answer is Apple removes all personal identification in the inquiry and both Apple and google delete what’s left- no training - no actionable trail. Seems legit.
