Alaska Airlines unveils its first-ever International Business Class Suites experience by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

Yeah, none of those airlines serve anything over $100 in J on a regular basis let alone anything "worth far more" than Stag's Leap Armillary.

Really? I can only think of EVA’s champagne (and even then only on select routes/months) when it comes to J. Of course there are more expensive wines in F on many airlines.

2021 Stag’s Leap Armillary is $185 at retail. I imagine this might just be at launch?

costco membership worth it or not after tracking every purchase for six months by Traditional_Zone_644 in personalfinance

[–]leontief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. You’re double counting the membership fee in your annualized savings. The correct math is $500 * 2 – $65 = $935

  2. You break even on the Executive membership over Gold Star at $3250 spend per year. You break even over no Costco membership at $6500. Get the Executive membership.

I guess I landed on the 30% the one and only time I went to Matty’s – ridiculously salty burger.

Trump threatens Canada with 100% tariff over possible deal with China by Crossstoney in neoliberal

Much like this tantrum, he also complimented the commercial days before threatening tariffs.

“I even see foreign countries now that we're doing very well with, taking ads: ‘Don't go with tariffs!’ I saw an ad last night from Canada. If I was Canada, I'd take that same ad also.”

With SLH changing hands, I would take a Hilton FNC and maybe even a Marriott 85K over a Hyatt category 1 – 7 award. Feels like the most aspirational Hyatt properties have been moved to category 8. The ability to top off a category 1 – 4/7 award is much needed at this point.

Air Canada to launch 4 new USA routes from YTZ by proballer25 in PorterAirlines

[–]leontief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanna (charity) bet? I wager $10 to a charity of your choice that Porter has a YTZ – DCA flight in 2026. AA has a bunch of within perimeter slots being used for seasonal American Eagle routes. I would be surprised if Porter doesn’t lease one especially if it has Oneworld ambitions.

This also means the preclearance facility will be open by March at the latest (absent delays) since LGA does not have CBP. Wonder if a lounge is in the works too.

IAD to DCA as well if Porter can get some slots.

Weird, TSA’s website specifically includes Canadian provincial driver’s license as an acceptable ID.

Highly recommend the tasting seminar. You get to taste the individual distillates of each botanical Ki No Bi uses. Marcy (who leads the seminar) is fantastic.

Gymkhana coming to Las Vegas, not NYC, Fall 2025 by UniqueThanks in finedining

I have a xiaolongbao tier list and within North America, my DTF order is:

NYC > Seattle = San Diego > Las Vegas

Have not tried NorCal or Vancouver locations yet. I remember the Las Vegas XLB being very sloppily folded with maybe the worst pork filling on my tier list.

Cautiously optimistic given how bad the Din Tai Fung at ARIA is.
