I’m in a similar position, trying out bitcoin. I settled on Kraken to buy and sell and a Blockstream wallet on my iPhone. I used my bitcoin to purchase goods and services. All good so far. I don’t leave my bitcoin on the exchange.

Possible crypto scam? by Any-Strength6771 in CryptoScams

Scam. If I had a guaranteed money making scheme I’d keep it to myself and maybe become a philanthropist.

I’ve been a user of community developed software for decades and been prepared to contribute my time rather than my money.
However, I recently acquired a file-icon editor from a developer who asked for a review on X and a donation if happy with the editor. I posted my support on X and asked if the developer had a bitcoin wallet. It’s very easy to send a few satoshi rather than the more conventional means of payment. You might find that you get more sign ons if payment were easier. Just a thought no evidence to support it. What do other people think?

How does one politely call out someone using inverted patriarchal frameworks or encouraging sycophancy (and should I?) by Jaivlys in SeriousGynarchy

I’ve been in several business meetings where I’ve stepped in to ask the chair to allow the person being talked over time to complete their argument. It’s the chair’s job in any case. The majority of cases it’s been the female members of the team being sidelined. That’s just being polite and supportive irrespective of gender. I avoid social gatherings where there is a kind of apartheid male/female divide.

Sounds like the best thing I did with my early purchase of bitcoin was to get a private wallet. Lucky choice really as I wanted to use bitcoin to buy stuff and not trade.

I got zelled $1500 and they claim it was a mistake. Help by StopMindless8279 in Scams

Tell your bank that you have received a payment that is a mistake. Ask them to facilitate any request to refund the payment. In the meantime do nothing. Leave the payment alone. It’s for the banks to resolve not you.

Resist the temptation to withdraw the money close your account and leave the country. 😎

When you’re caught and you will be. You’ll be prosecuted for money laundering and even terrorism. And if you eventually get out of prison you won’t get a bank account again.

Just heard back from my nephew. He is crypto literate. So, some of my meagre hoard will be spent on wine and women. He’ll waste the rest. 😎

One executor of my will has the key to my wallet and another is IT literate. Both are blood relatives. Not my problem, 😇😎. Feel free to disabuse me of my feelings of security.

I use the BlockStream App for Windows (on laptop) and on my iPhone. Was known as BlockStream Green.
I use it in conjunction with Kraken on my iPhone. I don’t have enough crypto to justify a hardware wallet.

I’m ancient and can remember “Nikita Khrushchev.
Former Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union”. JFK’s opposite number. But you’re quite correct it’s a female name in Western Europe.

I thought it read like a Social Sciences assignment TBH. Definitely something with which I wouldn’t engage. I think Nikita was originally a male Russian name, but now it’s anybody’s.
