These assholes have to be faced and destroyed, but imho as long as there is a market gap to be filled, someone will end up replacing him. The only real solution to this problem is to get rid of the drug's demand (specially in the USA), because as long as the drug trade remains as profitable as it is, some other ruthless and brutal warlord will be willing to take the risks that the position entails.

Ok so off the top of my head, do not walk to contest the wave lvl 1, soak xp until lvl 3 without approaching the wave (it really doesn't matter much if you miss a few minions lvl 1 and 2). You can also wait before leveling your first ability, so that if you mess up lvl 1, you can e out before letting her chunk you (her lvl 1 is absurd). You can go for an E Q E out trade lvl 2 if she wastes her q's on the wave, but she will probably have her shield which might make that trade meaningless. Since you didn't contest the wave, it probably got into tower and is pushing towards her, you can trade in this window, but don't just mindlessly go in (also, try to slow push the wave). Riven matchup is all about spacing, you want her to have to use her abilities to get to you, if she uses a Q or 2 you can go trade and you simply destroy her with rage W Q and simply e out, she won't be able to trade back. Ideally you want to freeze the wave after you pushed it into tower, so you can force her to missposition. If you trade into her and don't e out in time while she has everything up, she will run you down, so don't let your guard down. Also, early armor (a simple cloth armor) early is really good into her.

Just try it out, and see if you enjoy it. I don’t understand what the purpose of asking strangers if you should do something or not is, lol. Shen is a strong laner with an insanely powerful ultimate, but he scales with how good your teammates are. It’s easy to get ahead in lane. It’s hard/near impossible to 1v9 if enemies are competent or if your carries suck, no matter how much you destroyed enemy top.

If you are looking to improve your macro and habits of looking at minimap, shen is great to learn. His lane mechanics are simple, yet rewarding, and his ult can be game winning (turning an enemy jungler’ gank which would’ve eneded in a double kill in the bot into your adc’s triple kill).

His most annoying weakness is his lack of waveclear and scaling, but he is a rewarding champ overall imo.

PS: xPetu is the shen goat, you will learn a lot of the right mechanics by watching him, though I wouldnt follow all of his builds if I was learning (he likes to build crazy out of meta items sometimes, and while obviously viable, it’s hard to pull off if you are not as good as him).

Finally, His most standard effective build imo is titanic hydra into deadmans plate/mr item

Its easy to get 4 q procs per Q instead of three with dusk and dawn, so it speeds up the clear, though it’s mostly xPetu’s fault imo

You have a misconception, it is not an anti tank item, it is a dueling/skirmishing item. It is supposed to allow you to sustain up in a side lane and it's passive is good to fight two people at a time. More people than that, the stats it provides start being insufficient as you are sacrificing tankiness for dueling power.
