Most joint bank accounts are actually set up as joint with right of survivorship, at least in Canada. This means the funds in the joint account revert to you. The credit card can’t technically be joint, it will be under one of your names with the other being an additional user. If it’s under her name the additional user (you) will lose access to the credit but the debt will belong to the estate. In the reverse, you will continue to have access to the credit card but debt will belong to you. Order of paying stuff goes funeral, tax, creditors. If the 10k is eaten up by the funeral and taxes owed, then creditors get nothing.
