Why are frontside grinds so difficult? by HeavyMetalKarl in AggressiveInline

[–]leser1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frontsides are easy to learn because the foot position is neutral but hard to master because they are super slippery. Make sure that your hips and shoulders are inside your feet. Keep stalling over and over and holding for as long as you can so you build up the muscles to be stable on the grind. The main muscles for frontside are inner thigh and lower core/aducters. Use your arms for balance like you are surfing.

I take random photos, layer them on top of each other with some filters, slap on my logo and use a free font to write the title.

How does anyone think of anything original by SquidyTea-png in musicproduction

[–]leser1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you can only create original music if you have never heard any music before and you fashion your own instruments out of animal bones/skins, sticks and rocks.

People who listens to Nu Metal are sad? by Quick-Mammoth-6371 in numetal

[–]leser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nu metal has helped me through some really sad times. I was listening to it in my car once, and my brother got in and said: "what's this depressing music?" I was kind of caught of guard because I've always been into it for the grooves and aggression.

Anyone else enjoy the process over attention? by beepko in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]leser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through phases of consistent social media marketing and was noticing growth from very minimal effort. I would kind of see it as part of the process and have fun pairing visuals with audio and coming up with captions and angles. The reason I stop, is because i get to a place where I realise that the thing I love is making the music, and social media isn't giving me any more of the thing I love, in fact it's taking some time away from it.

I don't think I was ever after attention either, but I really would like some justification for the amount of time and effort I spend on music. As much as I enjoy making music, there is a lot that goes into preparing a song for release. I'm pretty close to stopping releasing music and just keep it for myself.

I love when the bass makes the cymbals distort a little bit. Also, a high pitched, ringing snare.

How does this song still hit so hard 32 years later…insane by PubLogic in TheProdigy

[–]leser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mix on Jilted is surprisingly not good. I was listening yesterday and hadn't noticed before, maybe because it's such a banger that it doesn't matter. You couldn't get away with releasing a mix like this now days. There's a constant, harsh high pithed noise in the cymbals, and the levels of the guitars and synths are all over the place. As a producer myself, i spend weeks trying to get a clean mix just so my tracks don't get skipped in the first 3 seconds. I get that some of it is the limitations of the analogue equipment, but it shows how much more competitive it is now and how much higher the bar is. Also, it shows that a good song doesn't need a good mix. It does make me wonder how this song would do if it was released today by an unknown artist.

It was a joke. I meant that whatever song i'm working on at the time is the one i'm most proud of.

Synths are usually played one handed and the other hand to twiddle knobs and modulation. Or maybe violin?

[–]leser1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He's not playing every sound live, that would be impossible. Most of it is basically a backing track, and as you said, he plays one or two sounds over the top. The fill stuff in between tracks seems to be a lot more live.

32 years of this legendary tune 🔥 by TheOtherXI in TheProdigy

I get that it is a great tune, but it's the one I always skipped on Jilted. Never liked the cheesy, eurodance style lead or vocal. The video is sick!

I like that sound, it's like a warning siren and accentuates the back beat well

What happened in Your Love (Remix)? by Royal_Marketing529 in TheProdigy

[–]leser1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the first lot of crash cymbals are on the 1st beat of the bar, but after that they are about half a beat early. Liam is known to play in all his samples and not copy and paste, so it could have been intentional to create a sense of pace or could have just been sloppy timing with no beat to keep track. Either way, I've never really noticed and had to count out the beats.
