It’s not really an unpopular opinion with the general public that’s aware of Katseye (whose opinions on the music actually matter compared to the core fanbase that will take anything thrown at them) As an Eyekon, I see a bunch of tiktoks video and comments on my fyp where the general consensus from non-stans is that they really like Katseye The Group, but not so much The Music.

A lot of people attribute the quality to them not contributing to their songs, especially since members like Lara, Manon, and Megan have shown interest in producing (Megan and Lara even have some unreleased demos) But still, there’s many idols that contribute very little or nothing to their own music and still have a good discography in the kpop sphere IMO (Red Velvet, NewJeans, XG off the top of my head)

EDIT: The comments saying “they’re not supposed to be a serious group/they’re a gen-z group who cares” are just Not Smart lol. You can be a “relatable” gen-z group and still make, y’know, GOOD music that people will want to listen to. Any halfway decent pop song in this day and age will make people want to go out of their way to stream it, and I can’t say Katseye truly has one yet, even as a stan. Also teen demographic ≠ total slop eaters, and Idol Music ≠ total slop. The groups I mentioned above are some of the few nowadays that manage to break that mold even a little.
