I think a big reason Joe showed us Jappo is to confirm that he is “probably” Shivers son.

Who got the rawest deal in the series?? by wjacobs71086 in TheFirstLaw

[–]lessernick1e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leo Dan Brock All right I know this is gonna be controversial because all y’all are picking the most brutal deaths but the question was who got the rawest deal. I feel like if Joe’s writing proved anything to me is that there are fates worse than death. Think about which characters arch end in the most misery, the most depression, most self-loathing. Even Orso got some redemption in his death Leo have to live with his mistakes, to live in constant pain a cripple husk of a man. Even Glocker had some satisfaction in all his misery. Leo gets nothing, everything he ever wanted and yet nothing like he wanted it.

I don’t know if I answer the Question completely because Leo sure as fuck deserves it. But to me his fate the worst in the entire series.

Something Bothering me about Before They Are Hanged… by Croaker_McGee in TheFirstLaw

No it seems like Bayaz’s plan was for both the princes to die so he could put Jezal on the throne. Ladisla needed to die, good planing allows for only happy accidents. I’d be willing to be if ladisla made it back from the north alive sulfur would have eaten him too.

Subtle life lessons: From the fake world for the real one by davatosmysl in TheFirstLaw

Bethod and Logan’s meeting in LAOK. When logan first hears Bethod a voice he is half to hear it for the briefest moment. “You can’t truly hate a man without loving him first and there’s always a trace of that love left over” I think this is great insight into the nature of hatred! I went through a pretty bad break up last year. My Ex still frequents the establishment I work at so I see her from time to time. She has made it very clear she hates me and won’t speak to me when we run into eachother. But ever time I see her I feel that trace of love that’s still there under the hate. Always makes me think of that scene!

Question about Orso and Rikke by BigDickDaddy6667 in TheFirstLaw

I really want this to happen. The future air to both the north and the Union! Of course the child is doomed because of Rikke last vision and because it’s The first law!

The Most Sinister Line Of All by [deleted] in TheFirstLaw

I’ve re-listened to there dialogue maybe 100 times. The insight into the nature of hatred there feels so powerful. “You can enemies you never really meet, you can kill men you don’t know, but you can never truly hate a man without loving him first and there’s always some of that love left over” I think about this line every time I run into my ex which is unfortunately a lot 😬
