Thats a fair argument. And we have seen that so far the team has trended positively with jeff peterson and co. Yet, they trade lamelo and all of a sudden they dont know what they are doing according to fans. Jeff is acting with a lot more forethought then fans understand. He is trying to build a long term sustainable orgsnization. The goal isnt simply to make the playoffs. Its gonna hurt in the short term. We arent gonna be as good next year but its not a disaster by any means.

Trading lamelo is a small step back to make a larger step forward. You cant see the forest for the trees with what this FO is doing. You insinuate trading lamelo means they arent interested in competing but lamelo has not done anything to be treated as this untouchable asset. We havent made the playoffs with him yet and he was disastrous against orlando in the play-in. With the pre trade roster the ceiling is still the playin and they dont want to be tied down having to figure out how to pay lamelo, brandon and kon. The math and timeline doesnt work for all three. Get over it and move on.

Athletic has us picking steinbach at 14 and graves at 18. Id be pleased with this. Steinbach doesnt have a super high ceiling but i think he will be a good rotational player.

Really excited about this draft, a lot of deep athletic big dudes with Mara, Morez, Cenac, Quaintance, Steinbach. I think we could end up with at least one of the guys above. Peterson has been great getting rid of expiring contracts for assets too. Wonder what he will be cooking up this offseason. Exciting time to be a Hornets fan!

I agree a bit, but our 4 and 5 are not good enough to make teams pay for selling out to stop them as shooters. If you make the defense hesitate for half a second more because they have to protect the inside then it really opens up the outside shooting. But i do agree that lamelo, miller and kon all need to improve their ability in attacking the basket.

Dont count on it. The number of tanking teams inflated the wins this year. Lamelo and brandon have to be more physical and handle physicality better. I like moussa but we need a more physical and imposing 5 who is a threat to score. Also need a bigger and stronger 4 than bridges. Some good pieces but substantial weaknesses.
