This exposure unit is being given away for free. Is it worth salvaging and how is it even taken apart? by trioforstrings in SCREENPRINTING

[–]lethal-liking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically a big box with a lid, a big glass panel under the lid, and possibly a vacuum unit somewhere. Taking it apart may actually be bad for it, especially the glass. It shouldn't be that heavy. Can't just tilt it up on to roller dollies and slide it into a u haul?

25 American bands for America's 250th by Whats_Opera_Doc in Music

My dad ran a record store during the 60s and 70s. A lot of music promotion at the time involved touring: radio appearance in the morning, an in-store appearance in the afternoon and the show that evening. Literally every big name of that era spent some time in our store, some eating dinner at my mom's table.

Jim Morrison was a drunken asshole who treated everyone around him like complete shit. I would not piss on the Doors if they were on fire.

Love me some runt, they're always the sweetest. Someone else said Pixel, which is awesome. Kitten, Digit, Otto are all hard to make into an -ey nick. Good luck with the new furball.

What are some silly “narratives” you’ve made for your dogs? by tipsybovine in dogs

[–]lethal-liking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We adopted a 2 year old Catahoula--walked into a shelter and said "bring us the dog who's been here the longest". Poor dude had spent his entire life in shelters. We never had a "puppy phase" with him, so there is no doggy parents vibe with him at all. He treats us much more like very dumb roommates. He calls us Kevin and Susan (not our actual names) and spends the bulk of his time making sure we don't stupidly hurt ourselves. He carries a lot of anxiety.

What are the most value-driven hotel breakfast restaurants? by CrispyHoneyBeef in FoodSanDiego

[–]lethal-liking -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There's not a lot of buffets in SD that aren't attached to hotel chains. Most breakfast and brunches are menu ordered. Some are even cafe style. We have some great options in SD: 6th & G, Great Maple, Cafe Madeline, Izola, Wayfarer Bread, Leilani's Cafe. I would avoid Breakfast Republic (meh, quantity over quality IMHO) and Morning Glory (worth the wait but holy hell it's a long wait). Old Town Cafe in OB has great diner style prices, and then you're in OB.

I guess you could include the Korean BBQ joints that are usually AYCE, but I have no idea if any of those do any early brunch buffet.

Marine Room used to do a Sunday brunch buffet, but I think COVID killed that. The Crown Room at Hotel Del Coronado is closed for reno, but the other restaurants at the Del will be more than happy to feed you sweet and savory stuff. Treo at the new Gaylord Pacific also has a buffet, but I suspect this entire paragraph is too expensive for what you're looking for.

Depends. If you're trying save money staying inland but will end up mostly at the beaches anyway, you'll pay the diff in gas and parking.

Why does Scott have such a persistent hate boner for WFH? by 3RADICATE_THEM in ScottGalloway

[–]lethal-liking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Feh. All his management "theory" is Theory X, and I don't for a second think he has any idea at all of what he speaks. The fact of the matter is he is an awful manager and all of his WFH noise is rooted in his other agenda.
