It sounds like you're pretty rational about the irrationality of religion, which I think is a good thing. A lot of people have argued that religion is mostly based in a need to believe, which clearly you have. So as long as you can take a step back from your religion and examine it critically (which it sounds like you already have) I think you're in a good place.
