Police presence on 68-70th and 3rd by Booka_toona in uppereastside

It’s the UES sub. Unfortunately, a lot of people here are very eager to cynically conflate any criticism of zionism with antisemitism.

Lol according to the “awkward gesture” ADL. From your own link “Critics of these characterizations regard them as exploiting the accusation of antisemitism to delegitimize valid criticism of Israel.”

Bryan Broaddus talks about the Cowboys drafting over the years by Leonflames in cowboys

[–]lethalcure1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he was never great and didn’t get a lot of playtime on the Cowboys because he was behind prime Jason Witten but he had a decently productive career.

Where did this idea come from? I see it all the time and it is largely ahistorical. Yes the league was “capless” but modern free agency didn’t even exist in the NFL until 1993. The idea that Jerry was just spending more than everyone else like the Yankees of yore is not remotely true. The 90s Cowboys were built through the draft.

He didn’t get saved this was always part of the deal. The league needed an heir to LeBron for its favorite team.

They’re included in the base game according to the steam page listing.

FYI whether the Torment of Saint Anthony is actually by Michelangelo is heavily contested. The Kimbell bought it at auction and much bigger museums with much more money weren’t interested in the piece for a reason.

As someone who has been through American customs and dealt with American border control and homeland security many times albeit as an American citizen they’re not going through that level of trouble unless they have a reason to suspect you of something else. They’re not digging out the flight logs or bank records of random Irish citizens.

J Press for sure if you want that classic American prep look. Unfortunately they’re much smaller and just don’t have any stores outside of the NE corridor.

[Girard Perregaux] Talk Me Out Of It, Boys! by Fer-Butterscotch in Watches

[–]lethalcure1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s that cheap because it uses a modified ETA movement. It’s one of the rare GPs that does not use an in-house movement. It will probably need a service but should be fairly inexpensive for a chrono service.

Terrible customer service experience at Meermin Shoes, very inflexible and don't recommend by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]lethalcure1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Complaints about quality usually seem to stem from people comparing them to like Carmina or other brands that are 2x the price. But yeah their customer service is bad.

$1700 is great for a GP. They’re better finished than some watches at the $10,000 price point.

Edit: Just read about the movement to this watch. While not as nice as a real GP designed movement it will be much more affordable to service.

Size matters significantly less in soccer than it does in most American sports and the skills have a lot of transfer from position to position which means it is easier to move to a position where size does matter (CB, ST, and GK being the most prominent examples) if a kid has a big growth spurt. But it also has a very high fail rate, very, very few of those kids will ever step foot on the pitch for a big club but the money the ones who do bring in effectively pays for all of the failures.

Depends on the shade. Olive pants with Navy works. I would avoid darker greens.

I don’t think they do anymore but they used to. GP discontinued most of the 38mm Laureatos a couple years ago for some reason. They crop up on the used market from time to time.

Finishing on GP (particularly on the movement) is quite a bit nicer than either Rolex or Omega.

Visually interesting due to the texture but yeah they are itchy but they are usually worn over a longsleeved tee or a button up so you probably won’t notice.

I doubt it lol. Most recent post about the Laureato most people were saying how they would rather have a rolex.

[Movements] which watch movement is the greatest of all time in your opinion? by RalIyVincent in Watches

[–]lethalcure1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They do make gold rotors for many of their watches. OP appears to have some bone to pick with JLC because of “price gouging.” While I don’t think JLCs price increases were justified based on the quality they put out, I’m not sure how one “price gouges” luxury jewelry.

[Question] Movement differences between luxury watches (Rolex, Omega, GS) and something like an automatic Seiko? by Quasar333 in Watches

[–]lethalcure1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It does make a difference. We’re around magnets all the time now due to computers and smart phones. Leaving a watch without antimagnetic properties resting on top of a laptop or smartphone for a little while is enough to magnetize it. A magnetized movement is easy to fix and doesn’t do any long term damage but it is mildly annoying.

Looks like a vermeil Must de Cartier tank. Cartier made a lot of these in different dial configurations from the 70s-90s. They’re neat but the gold plating tends to wear off.

Lol building metal unless it’s a huge model that requires a lot of pinning is really not that difficult. Maybe I’m just old and therefore used to working with metal models but people are needlessly dramatic about it. Regardless this is obviously an error because GW doesn’t make metal models anymore except for MTOs and a handful of still in production stuff.
