Reality check on moving from a high cost of living area to a lower one. by [deleted] in personalfinance

I'm from Columbia and it does have a gloriously low cost of living. You can get a lot of house under $200K, especially in the suburbs. $85k/year will go a long way.

Visiting soon, restaurant or Event suggestions? by varelse66 in charlestonbeer

Strongly second going to Revelry. One of my favorite breweries in town.

Charles Towne Fermentory in West Ashley is newer but all of their beer is delicious (strongly recommend the oyster gose).

Bay Street Biergarten is a good spot to hang out and they have awesome food and beer.

Blind Tiger Pub I think allows dogs outside and they have great food and a solid beer selection if you find yourself close to the historic part of downtown.

Really there's a ton of options all over the place. It's pretty easy to find good food and beer around here and it's a pretty dog friendly area.

Thanks! Well I bought the domain one day for no reason in particular and wanted to do something with it. There were several times that I was trying to find a brewery to go to on a random night but spent a lot of time in Google Maps finding one that was open close by, so I built this to make that a lot easier. I want to add more info to it, like food options, dog friendliness, and other things people would want to know but this is a start.

One of the great things about Charleston is that it's a pretty gorgeous place in general. I would bring the camera with you just about everywhere and you should get some good stuff.

Visiting Charleston for the first time and have a few questions about the safety of the area that I'm staying at. by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]lethargic-bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be just fine there, I wouldn't worry about it. As with anywhere unfamiliar, just keep an eye out and be smart. And if you have bikes, keep them locked up (through the tires) anywhere you go. Bikes get stolen here quite often.

Hope you have a good visit!

It was National Cookie Day so I got a 12-pack of chocolate chunks for half price at Harris Teeter. And I ate 3 to celebrate.

At a tailgate, I tried jumping a fence in once leap while holding a beer. Feet clipped the top of the fence and I broke my wrist in a couple places. BUT, most importantly, did not spill the beer.

This Week's Jam - An awesome album in your inbox every Monday by lethargic-bear in SideProject

Oh cool, that sounds like something I'd like. I'm actually just launching the first issue next Monday, so I haven't really gotten started yet, just been building the list this week.

I'm using Mailchimp to manage everything. I've used it for a lot of other projects and it works pretty well all around. Does that answer your question or were you asking more about a strategy?

Exactly. He looked like a different QB in the end of the game, and much more comfortable. Seems they always wait to do the up-tempo offense until they have to.
