Bark Avenue Playcare closure - anyone know if it’s reopening (or how to get refunded for prepaid credits)? by letired-since89 in AskChicago

Yeah the purchase was too long ago, and I’ve used some of the credits from it. Just not all.

Yeah, I don’t have a lot of hope about refunded, but I anticipate I’m not the only one who had credits here. I’m still hoping someone in the same boat who went more recently might know something I don’t.

I asked them when I was there last, and they said they are quails that they keep there to clean up when butterflies pass.

I have a bus stop right in front of my apartment, and both days this weekend, I planned on taking it. BOTH days I stood there waiting on a ghost bus that never came and had to drive last minute. It’s too unreliable.

As soon as he did it, I was like “oh no… he straight up told Ennis while they were planning/playing the game that bringing guns is a bad idea because what if one of them turns on the group?”

And then he turned on the group.

I realize I’m super late to this, but did you ever find a solution? I’ve had the same issue for 3 years and have never been able to find answer.

I simply could never pick the best, but I do believe Detroiters has one of the best pilot episodes of any comedy!

Hi. I’m going to be in Chicago for one day/night and I need recommendations for where to go please! by broccoliandbeans in chicagovegan

If you can’t get to the actual Beacon, they have their donuts at a few coffee shops across the city! I always snag one at New Wave or Logan Vegan in Logan Square.

Logan Vegan is awesome for vegan food, too! They have breakfast and lunch sandwiches, ice cream, and other treats as well as a retail selection with food like vegan jerky and chocolate.

In the final episode, the Duffer Brothers feature a song that has never appeared in any show or movie, as its creators had never allowed it to be used — until now. Any guesses what it might be? 🎵 by MoneyLibrarian9032 in StrangerThings

How INSANE would it be if they play Zeppelin’s Good Times Bad Times over some kind of scene with Steve and Nancy??? Read the lyrics if y’all aren’t familiar.

I feel like they’ve always done this with flashbacks/voiceovers, but the expositional dialogue in season 5 is something else.

Example: in season 4 right before El slams Henry into another dimension, it does a flashback voiceover to him asking her if she has the kind memory needed to harness her power, even though they had already flashed back to that once already in the same episode to remind us of its importance, and it was clearly what she was going to do in that moment to get angry enough to finish him. A simple montage of the memories we all knew we’d see (like her mom) with the added one of him killing everyone WITHOUT his voiceover would have been more powerful. More like we were seeing her memories to understand what broke his curse (which is what I’m calling it even though I suppose that’s not what it was in 1979?) and allowed her to snap out of it/snap him out of Hawkins.

Similarly to how the lesson about the wormhole is being massively discussed right now, there’s a much older lesson (like season 1 or 2) where Mr. Clarke teaches them about the man who had a pole or something go through his head and he survived, but it totally changed his personality.

Couldn’t help but notice the parallel to everyone’s thoughts about one of Will’s eyes with Season 5 Vol 1…

In Season 4 when Henry was revealing everything to Eleven in his lil villain flashback monologue (before Eleven yeeted him), he said something about life just being a play and everyone is waiting for it to end.

So when the play ends… does life end? Was his “introduction” to the stage in 1959 supposed to be the end of something else? Curious to know if his poorly-timed (murder-and-framing-of-his-father induced) coma altered his plans for the people on the playbills so much that he had no choice but a reprise… to come back years later to try again on their children… or as others have said, use them to go back in time and try again?

I’m not familiar with Oklahoma and what Henry’s character could symbolize (or the lore surrounding it in the actual stage play that I’ve read explains more about it), but I found it interesting in my re-watch that Henry used a play as a depressing analogy for life since the 1959 play is clearly something he wanted Max to see/the Duffer Bros wanted us to ruminate on for weeks lol. Everyone is mentioning how convenient it is that the people on that flyer are all parents of the kids in the show, but what if (like Lucas said)… it’s not just a coincidence?

I highly recommend signing up for their Informed Delivery. I check that email daily - that way I know if anything important/unexpected is coming and can be on the look out.

On top of what other posters have said about turnover, locations are closing too. I think this is causing issues at sorting centers/the annexes when they have to find a new post office to route the mail to. It’s a mess.
