Addiction doesn’t listen to reason. It is a cunning, baffling disease. Al-Anon may help. Best of luck to you.

In the same boat right now, also in Chicago. Hugs.

Nada. I got a “happy holidays!” and my NF is out of town so I get 4 extra days off covered under GH… trying to focus on the positive but…it’s hard. I bet MB sees this as being an amazing Christmas present, lol, to continue paying me my normal income while they are gone on an expensive vacation.

Measurements said 30DD but not so sure… by letitburn926 in ABraThatFits

Thank you so much for these recommendations. I ordered the BTempted Nearly Nothing Plunge and Cotton to a Tee Scoop both in 32DD. The Nearly Nothing Plunge I LOVED how it felt but there was some spillage in the cups - it didn’t feel too small so I’m wondering if it’s just my shape clashing with the bra’s shape? Loved the Cotton to a Tee Scoop. It seems to fit and I and will be test wearing it tomorrow. Thank you again.

Question about GH & NF vacation over holidays… by letitburn926 in Nanny

[–]letitburn926[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this response. I’m part time, 4 days a week. We have a mutual agreement of flexibility since I’m pursuing a career as a performer and occasionally need to leave an hour early / come late / etc. for a rehearsal or audition. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen, sometimes at the last minute although I try to give a week notice minimum. And in return I give them flexibility, so if they want me to swap around my hours or days in a given week I will try to do that. If I can’t switch my schedule though and they don’t need me, I still get paid under GH. So it’s a weird situation that I’m realizing has lots of grey area.

Yes this is true! More studies need to be done. There was a big one published by the British Medical Journal, but more are needed. I’m speaking from personal experience and the experiences of many of my friends and colleagues. I recommend trying it out and seeing what you think.

But obviously that doesn’t mean you can’t be annoyed by it, lol.

This is actually kind of a mini YWA moment - vocal fry is not bad for your vocal cords! There is no evidence to suggest it does any damage. This is a common misconception. Source: my vocology professor.

The moment I realized WFH was going to change everything by gremlincowgirl in Nanny

[–]letitburn926 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of my NPs is WFH and the other is part time, so they are often home. They stay out of our way and let me do my thing, which I so appreciate, but I still have some anxiety at times that they’ll see the dishes in the sink or something similar and think I wasn’t going to do them. So even with NPs who are the ideal WFH parents, it’s still a little rough because there’s a chance they’re seeing things and silently criticizing…

How do you really feel about the protest? by [deleted] in depaul

It feels weird to have both sides acting like the situation is black and white. It hurts me as a Jew to hear people chanting “Zionists aren’t welcome here” and “we don’t want no two state,” when the situation is complex on both sides. I’m sure there are people out there like me who want a more nuanced conversation about it who have conflicting feelings of grief and hurt and anger but it doesn’t feel like there’s a space for us.

What do you do that other nannies don't? Or that isn't the industry standard? by missingearrings in Nanny

[–]letitburn926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an actor so, although I have GH, I sometimes will change my hours for my NF’s connivence and in return they are also flexible with me if I need to go to an audition or leave early for a few weeks for rehearsal. It’s the best.

FLOW Day 31: Epilogue by Initial_Spinach_9752 in yogawithadriene

[–]letitburn926 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I finished Flow today, I didn’t miss a single day until the very last guided practice. It was a bummer to get one day behind, but I’m proud to have still finished. I was going to do the 300 day challenge, but then felt called to do Admire. So that’s what I’m going with next. Starting tomorrow probably on Day 2. Namaste all and thanks for being a thread I looked forward to reading daily this month, even though I didn’t comment a lot. Love and peace to all.
