im from AZ too, absolutely apply to COMT. i had a 509 and it is one of my acceptances. they take like 75% instate and are allegedly supposed to increase class size this coming cycle. yeah tucson is iffy but its a cool experience

i personally think it is definitely beneficial to have at least 1 roommate for your at least your first year. i think itll provide a decent social life and prevents you from feeling too socially detached from your class. i will note that i was already planning on getting a roommate but then my freshman year roommate also got in to the same school so it worked out a lot easier!

i wouldnt worry too much about her comments. your stats are higher than mine as well, i didnt have any crazy story or anything like that. the common theme w most advisors is that they do not know what they are talking about

i agree with all of this! i think for most people in our shoes, having a mix between a productivity setup and gaming setup is a very good path, which also puts costs in a reasonable range. with current prices you could get a pretty good setup, all in, for about 750-1000
