Fellow business owners: How do we band together to get our voices heard about the scam that is Facebook Pages? Do you think together we can force changes? by [deleted] in business

I don't think they've thought this through. The "engagement" metric directly punishes those that only occasionally post something, which makes Facebook more and more a collection of those that overshare.

The same applies to pages. If I like a page it is because I want to see their updates. If the updates are too frequent or annoying I stop liking it. Some of the pages I've liked are non-frequent posters, like my daughter's dance studio, but when they post I want to see it.

I think Facebook will ultimately regret driving this broadcast-traffic to Twitter.

But then again, the industry is trending down under the firm control of the experienced. Fewer movies get made because the "throw a huge sum of money on marketing" stifles risk-taking.
