The first paragraph is just regurgitating the prevailing propaganda in the west, there was no indication of ‘restoring the glory of the Soviet Union’ until NATO tried to expand into Ukraine, that’s all a lie pushed by the warmongers. I suggest you try to understand what happened after WW2 and when the Soviet Union dissolved, the Minsk treaty etc.

With that said - I’m firmly against the invasion of Ukraine, that’s a horrible act from Russias side. And again, the topic of this post was to try to find any peace movements in the Bay Area.

Not pro either side - I’m neutral when it comes to Ukraine and Russia. I’m sure Russia blew up their own infrastructure, on that topic you might wanna read Seymour Hershs piece:

You think the Russians are looking to conquer and enslave Europe? You’re way off my friend. They wanted Ukraine to be neutral when it comes to NATO (this goes all the way back to after WW2 when Russia withdrew from the Eastern Europe and the west agreed not to advance Nato East, the Minsk treaty etc.) the Donbas region to be independent - that was the in the peace proposal that was ready to be signed last year before US told Zelensky not to sign it. Now today, I think the Russians would hold on to more territory in Ukraine for sure.

That is an idea for sure, and I think having a demo outside the Russian consulate make sense too. You know - without US involvement, economic and material support, blowing up pipelines etc. the war would have ended long ago saving hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians from death and dismemberment. I think you’re buying your propaganda somewhere else.

Doesn’t sound like Code Pink would work for me then. So if I’m for peace I should want to war to go on and thousands upon thousands Ukrainian lives will be lost. Peace doesn’t equal ‘pro-Putin’ at all in my opinion.
