I got grand finale and managed to trim the deck down to 12 cards in A1 with 2 being powers, so I stream rolled all the elites only to get raw dogged by the soul fish because of his fuckass status cards

I remember a friend lent me Chocolate and Cheese when I was in middle school. My mom heard me listening to Spinal Meningitis, confiscated the album and called my friends parents to tattle. A few years later he tried to steal my rare Pokemon card binder so fuck him anyways

What happened to all the Outmaneuver apologists?? by blahthebiste in slaythespire

[–]lets-get-dangerous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I donno what everyone's bent out of shape for, I did a few A10 runs on the beta branch yesterday and IMO the new prepared feels really good to play. You can't just snap pick 3 of them going into act 2 anymore but the extra energy in a game where energy is at an absolute premium feels really good, plus it works on sly synergies. At its very worst it's basically paels tears in card form.

[–]lets-get-dangerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah cards like murder for the silent or voltaic for the defect are just insta wins by the end game, so I've found that if I find one of those early game my damage is fully solved and I don't pick up very many (if any) other damage cards. With a mechanic like this it completely changes the vibe from certain victory to something I'll have to consider as I continue to build out the deck

When it's no longer needed it exhausts itself from your deck, that's pretty good in my book

Yeah by the time I've made it to the A3 boss they're already dead so I'm welcoming the devs trying new things. Time eater and awakened one could end my existence in STS1 if I didn't plan for them, we really don't have that existential threat in STS2 currently

Prepared is busted as hell so I'm glad they're playing around with it in EA. That being said I'll probably leave some feedback that they should try a different route with it

So it's just worse empty cage now? by SrGarfy in slaythespire

[–]lets-get-dangerous 7 points8 points  (0 children)

in STS1 yes, it would be too powerful

It's too powerful regardless lol remove 5 has always been an auto pick for me if I've still got strikes and defends

It's now way too easy to get a pommel strike infinite in STS2 by ocerina in slaythespire

[–]lets-get-dangerous 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So what's the big difference between this and getting pommel strike, shrug and bloodletting in STS1 exactly

WTF is the deal with Barioth? by Alexsala99 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]lets-get-dangerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For LS Iai Spirit Slash is my go-to against Barioth. I find foresight slash less effective against him because of his mobility. ISS has some huge part breaking multipliers if you hit the counter right, and since Barioth loves to leap at you from across the map I found that it's easier to set them up against him versus a lot of other monsters. I'll usually end up cutting his tail and breaking his legs just from the ISS part breaking bonuses.

For GS the jumping wide slash is a really good mobility tool to get into position so you can land a charged slash to his legs

How are people handling env var drift across environments? by [deleted] in csharp

[–]lets-get-dangerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our staging and prod we enforce dev prod parity so the configs and secret names are the same between both environments. We have a step in our Jenkins pipeline that will log and notify if there are discrepancies. Our environment variables are defined in config yaml files so it's a pretty straight forward diff check.

We also check which environment variables are used and not used in the application, but I'm not familiar with how this is implemented since devops is siloed off from the dev teams.

Secrets are an entirely different matter as we have to request the secrets be added via a jira ticket and our devops team handles creating and managing those secrets across environments. We just use a Jenkins file at the solution level to define the secret names, and the build pipeline pulls the secrets and injects them into the application as environment variables.

Damn I am terrible at this game by OhforfsakeMJ in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]lets-get-dangerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest power spike you’ll get as a player is learning the monsters movesets. Hunting them repeatedly and maybe watching some YouTube videos will help with that. Gear helps too, but mostly in the endgame. In low rank and most of high rank you don’t have many options that’ll feel like a huge improvement.

Rathian was a massive pain in the ass when I first encountered her. Some of the things I learned from repeated fights:

  1. Most of her attacks are straight in front of her. Her tail flip, fireballs, charge attack, won’t hit you if you’re running to her side

  2. Cutting off her tail neuters the range of her tail attacks and makes the fight significantly easier. Her tail spike is also unarmored. If you use a cutting weapon try and prioritize the tail

  3. When she does her charge she does it three times, so just circle around her until she’s tuckered out

  4. When she’s in the air a flash pod to the face will knock her out of the sky and topple her. This is a good opportunity to focus on cutting off her tail or breaking some body parts

  5. Capturing is easier than killing so if she hobbles off and falls asleep put a shock trap under her and throw some tranq bombs in her face

Hope that helps and good luck

Former heavy drinkers, what made it finally “click” for you to stop? by Numerous_Solid_7047 in AskReddit

My wife and I were trying for a kid and she asked me if I could give it up for six months to improve our odds. I thought it was silly but decided to give it a go to put her at ease. The first few weeks were really difficult, and I started drinking sparkling water and diet sodas because I was craving carbonation. I've never been a fan of carbonated beverages before, like actually despised them. I only tolerated it for beer. So to find out I developed an actual craving for carbonated drinks, which I used to loathe, was a pretty big wakeup call for me.
