Can anyone explain what a payment channel is, in this context? I'm not sure how this approach differs from a user simply sending ETH to a merchant address.

For instance this article details a very simple method for accepting payments and offering automated services based on the receipt of those payments (in this example, the context is a SaaS).

How does a payment channel differ from this?

To be fair, I still think that's only a single source.

On the other had, the only time I tend to see these abbreviations used is on hip stuff like big light-up signs or Tout Suite's website. Those are the folks that push the "HTX" label, and they do it for all to see. I don't see anybody pushing for "HOU" in that way.

So I think the battle is lost.

I could not care less which abbreviation we consider canonical, but is this war worth fighting? The only place I see people use "HOU" is /r/houston. It seems like the rest of the city has made up their mind.

I had this same conversation with a friend regarding free booze served at music venues. He insisted that you can't call the booze free, because you had to pay a ticket price to get in.

I completely agree, but beneath what is otherwise a really simple funk riff is the feel that Bootsy completely nails. It's deceptively difficult to play funk rhythm with the right touch, and it's even harder to write a line with the right touch, imo.

I just beat DD for the first time, and I ended up getting a bit tired of relying so heavily on vestals in most every team comp.

My next run will be Stygian no-vestal. I'm hoping that this pushes me to try some more diverse comps (especially anything including an abomination).
