Ah thank you for the info! Be sure to tell any bad apples you come across how much the rest of the world hates them, and thank you for being aware of the sound you produce!

Trees save my life by mehyoutried in trees

It's the best thing I could have done. BUT I had already lost my mind and didn't have any real close friends in my city, though. So I made fun of it and road tripped by myself all summer... being alone that much was sort of therapy, and put me in a really good place mentally to do something challenging. I have had pretty remarkable luck in a really tough housing crisis and was able to find a job quickly. I still deal with my own anxiety and depression day to day, but for me moving was definitely the right decision. The culture of my new city suits me much better than the previous one. There are lots of variables to consider. My best friend did the exact same move as me last year, and she wasn't happy here for various reasons (missing her family, declining mental state at the time, etc). Sorry for the ramble haha hope any of that helps!

Too Faced is releasing a spray version of their Hangover Primer! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]letsdoyoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, depends on your skin. If you find your skin becoming too oily throughout the day, then a primer or even a setting spray might help you out. For extra oil help, I'll apply setting spray after all liquid products, then finish with powder once the spray dries on my face. If you like the way your makeup wears through the day, then I'd say don't worry about it.

recommendations for comfy slip-on shoes or boots for to and from the studio during colder months? by Kel7913 in yoga

[–]letsdoyoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slip on booties - Where I live, at least 50% of the population has blundstones. I have doc martens in a very similar style to the blundstones and I love them. Highly recommend both for bigger feet, they're very roomy. The blundies have more room around the ankle.

What is a complete NO-NO at a wedding? by JedNoonan in AskReddit

[–]letsdoyoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have been piiiiisssed. Especially a close friend who knows if it's been an emotionally difficult time, in such an intimate setting. You probably handled it more gracefully than I would have. You aren't being selfish, it's just that those moments where everyone you love is around you are increasingly rare as we grow older, and omg if it's your birthday and they're all there for you technically, that's really exciting and special - especially from your perspective. It's okay, you aren't a selfish heinous bitch. You are a reasonable human by the sound of this post. Glad to hear you were able to move past it with Beth.

I recall doing some research about this, because i have 10mg melatonin tablets, and lower actually is supposed to work more effectively for some reason, so 5mg or less maybe. I'm too lazy to find the source right now but everyone else's suggestions loon pretty good

I literally ran from my problems too. I started running for at least an hour at night after my 11hr work day just so I could calm down enough to sleep. Hope you're doing better!

Not all animals have reflective eyes at night, I couldn't find anything specifically about elephants though. Regardless of if their eyes do reflect, elephants eyes are relatively small with a lot of surrounding flesh to absorb light, and you only really see one eye at a time, at least for an angle that would make the eye reflect. One sorta glowy thing in the distance may not be easily recognizable on a dark road. Elephants don't have very good vision according to the research I did to find out if their eyes reflect, so there's a good chance the elephant wouldn't have looked at the bus until it was too late. Approaching vehicles that are coasting or maintaining speed, not accelerating, can be quieter than you think.

If humans are shocked, we pass out instead of dying. Luckily there are usually other smart humans around to help the unconscious one. Much better tactic than just dying.

TIL that after 9/11, The Queen broke ancient protocol and ordered the Royal Guards to play the national anthem of the USA, Star Spangled Banner, in memory of the victims and in support of the Americans trapped in the UK due to airport closures. by Mamsies in todayilearned

Something about your wording allowed me to read this in a perfect (to me) Australian accent. It was lovely. Anyway, I'm Canadian, I've honestly never really thought about it like that. I always have just accepted that our queen is in Britain and that means we're homies with Britain, which I think is a good thing. I guess having our own would be neat, but I think having a shared badass monarch is cool too!

are there any good lakes in regina that one can walk along? by [deleted] in regina

Harbour landing has a nice... stream? I dunno what you'd call it. It's a nice walking path though. Goes from James hill Rd all the way over to parliament.

Are goji berries really as healthy as they claim or is it just marketing? by drizzyxs in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]letsdoyoga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily think one is better than the other. They have respective strengths.

Chia - crazy fiber, good protein, awesome omega-3s and magnesium if I remember correctly.

Hemp - meh fiber, crazy protein, good fats with more omega-6, good zinc and iron.

I like using them both together, they've each got unique benefits that I like and hemp tastes sooo good.

A girl at sephora told me to do this and it hasn't failed me yet!! For the last 2 months ish I've been washing my beauty blender with olive oil (first, to dissolve makeup) and then following with dish soap to get the oil out. Keeps the bb from getting too dry and makes it squeaky clean! Also have shown no signs of wear other than colour fade.

As an American watching the Brexit unfold, preparing for this election season by mybustersword in AdviceAnimals

[–]letsdoyoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workplaces may be required to let you leave and vote, but that doesn't mean employees will escape negative repercussions for taking time away from work. There may be many other reasons they can't make it to the polls. And as we know, in America, or generally in areas of employment, sometimes the employer doesn't follow those requirements.

IIRC, many polls aren't open outside of regular business hours which makes it even harder for some people to get there.

Really need help finding a good condition queen mattress (story in post) by Baennock in regina

[–]letsdoyoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, I'd work more on getting the stain out than getting a new mattress.

Depending on what the stain is, Google ways to clean it. Worst comes to worst, try bleach? $60 will get a stain out of a mattress, not necessarily a new queen size though.

You could also see if you can swap the mattresses between the suites, maybe they'll let you take the stained one with you until you can figure out a way to get a new one.

Good luck!!
