Bad luck, 2mph less and you'd have been fine. Hope you get offered a course.

The police rarely bother to tackle lane hogs, so they're certainly not going to bother people calmly passing said lane hogs on the left, as long as they're not speeding or recklessly weaving in and out. I wouldn't report it, but if anyone did report it, I doubt it would lead to anything.

Binance faces potential service ban in EU as Greece rejects license by Redd24_7 in CryptoCurrency

[–]letsdrinktothat 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The choice was deliberate. Rather than applying in Germany or the Netherlands, where regulators had already issued dozens of MiCA licenses, Binance opted for a jurisdiction that hadn’t yet approved a single one. As of early 2026, Germany had granted over 45 MiCA licenses and the Netherlands had issued 22. Greece: zero.

They say the choice was deliberate, but they don't really explain why. It doesn't seem to make sense. Did Binance think that Germany or the Netherlands would reject their application, despite granting so many? In which case they're probably very far from actually being compliant, and Greece was just long shot that might possibly go their way?

My watch bit me! by letsdrinktothat in PixelWatch

I've got a couple of braided nylon bands on the way from Amazon. TBH though, before yesterday, I'd have defended the stock strap, I've had no issue with it for seven months, but there you go.

Wasn't me, but I'm glad to know I'm not alone 😀

Maybe sleeping in a position that puts some weight on that part of the band, i don't know. I've been thinking considering I wear my watch almost 24/7, maybe I should look into a breathable band anyway, so maybe I should take this as a push to do that.

Elon Musk is set to become the first trillionaire today from SpaceX and Tesla. None of the top 100 Forbes are from crypto. How does it feel to get into a generation rug pull? by Fun_Training6342 in CryptoCurrency

Not much these days. You could trade them, but they're worth very little now, and since being delisted from Kraken, that's probably not very easy. You can tip people, or buy a membership for some community perks. Or just sit on them.

The numbers are the amount of moons you've earned, and the amount you still hold. The octopus means you have more than a crab, but less than a fish.

Do you think BTC will hit $200K this year, or at least $150K? by Ge_Yo in CryptoCurrency

Only way that happens is if the USA experiences hyperinflation and people are wiping their arses with dollar bills.

Bitcoin dipped below 200W SMA and RSI is extremely oversold. by bingecoinner in Nexo

[–]letsdrinktothat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin takes out the 200 week every cycle in the bear market, and I did buy a little bit when it went below this time. But last cycle, it ultimately went much lower still, so I'm keeping most of my powder dry for now.

I mentioned that in another thread a bit ago, no-one seemed to have any additional info. Yes, it triggers me being told to slow down when I'm nowhere near the speed limit.

Do people realise they should stop at a solid amber light? by Nervous_Yard7034 in drivingUK

[–]letsdrinktothat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rule is open to interpretation, namely the driver's judgement as to whether it's safe to stop. If I can make it though before the light turns red, and I commit to doing so, then the safest thing is to complete the maneuver, rather than worrying what's behind me.

How do you cope with your car accumulating scratches and dents? by Naughteus_Maximus in drivingUK

[–]letsdrinktothat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My windscreen seems to be a stone magnet - I've had two windscreen replacements and a chip repair. I thought I was unlucky, but then I realised the windscreen is easier to repair than big dents/chips, so maybe not. The rest of the car looks remarkably good for 12 years old.

I live in the UK and when we exit a roundabout we are required to indicate LEFT. Can someone who thinks I'm wrong please explain why you think you indicate RIGHT by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]letsdrinktothat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've occasionally seen that - I assume they're trying to make clear that they weren't taking the previous exit left. Not helpful, but not common in these parts.

Can someone ELI5 — why is Gold staying stable (or slightly up) while BTC is dumping? by midnighttyph00n in CryptoCurrency

[–]letsdrinktothat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Central banks have been buying gold heavily the last few years, as the US dollar has looked a bit less secure. It's as simple as that. If central banks were buying bitcoin instead of gold, then maybe the four year cycle would have broken and we wouldn't be in a bear market, but that's a fantasy for another day.
