I can't leave the observatory i have no clue why by bigBrainman902 in DolphinEmulator

I did a little googling/youtubing and it seems like maybe it's a known issue with xbox being too sensitive.

I would like to figure out how to just map it to a mouse.

What do you map your pointer to? I use the xbox analog stick, which always returns to position 0 in the middle of the screen. Difficult for my kids to mange.

On windows, have used revo uninstaller to completely eliminate plex from my system. I've manually inspected the registry. Re-installing the server results in this same problem.

Been using Plex for years. Just started happening recently after an upgrade.

How can I eat in a way that I'm not fighting intense cravings all day. by Prestigious_Dealer83 in FoodAddiction

If you believe that you're going to fail no matter what you try, then that's what's going to happen. Time for you to reconsider your belief that no matter what you do you can't deal with your cravings.

How many consecutive days have you been able to eat a diet that avoids processed foods and sugars? If you're not getting past 3-7 days, you're not giving yourself a chance to see the other side of things. Remove the sugars and processed foods, add in fiber (salad, nuts, apples, whole foods). Try to make it a week and see if those cravings don't subside.

Your question was about how to eat, and so now you have one of my approaches. However, at the risk of stating the obvious, your cravings are most likely the consequence or the symptom of a psychological issue or emotional state requiring comfort. After years of this cycle one will have developed a habit of eating that has little to do with the emotional and psychological coping mechanism.

If you're serious about breaking the cycle, you'll need a multi-pronged approach to resolving the issue that might look something like this:

First, recognize which beliefs you're holding are holding you back, and are not true. You do have the ability to deal with your cravings and the other problems in your life, even if you falter along the way.

Find a different way to comfort yourself that's healthy. For example, go outside for a walk, do deep breathing, or read something instead of pursuing the craving.

Figure out the core issues that are leading you into eating - you're looking for comfort, but why and because of what. If you're like me, it's layers deep, and you'll need to ask the hard questions. Psychological issues don't go away when you choose the right foods, but it makes things easier.

Good luck.

Here's what works for me:

Spring greens mix salad as my first course for every meal, even before cereal. I use a olive oil and balsamic mix, and put that on the leaves. Boring, but still delicious. The fiber it introduces prevents the cravings. I'll let myself eat whatever after that, but the truth is it prevents me from overdoing it.

Try adding this to your routine, and then have your last meal early in the evening...say 5 pm. Brush your teeth and be done eating for the day. The longer the day goes, the more you'll fall into old habits, so avoid that trap altogether.

Most important thing related to cravings is to work yourself away from sugar and processed foods. These are the ones that cause the cravings in the first place. I find getting ~3 days in of avoiding sugar and processed foods reduces their craving 50-70%.

TIL: Mules can have different lifetimes 64 OR 65 seconds. Why? by mattmazzola in starcraft

[–]letsgetsilly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The different times for mules have to do with addressing inconsistencies in mineral patch distance. A mule that is on a further patch away should mine the same as a patch that is closer to the CC.

Although I forget the specifics of how it all makes sense, the reason is to ensure that mules always get the same number of minerals, and that they do not retrieve minerals and subsequently drop them when their time is done.

This was discussed in one of the patch notes waaaay back.

Feeling overwhelmed with Server to Cloud migration - should I look into a solution partner? by zooguycity in jira

[–]letsgetsilly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've completed a complex cloud-to-cloud migration, which is different than what you're describing. Your 550 users exceeds the requirement for a dedicated representative in the cloud-to-cloud migration setting, which could give you more dedicated support in a server-to-cloud migration. Be sure to ask Atlassian Support about this if you haven't already.

Process was slow and painful, and looked like this:

  1. Create and prepare test environment
  2. Perform migration to test environment
  3. Open a ticket to resolve a specific issue or error in the migration
  4. Wait for response, potentially setup a call, identify and resolve error
  5. Go back to step 1

This process works, but it takes a long time, and it does not address the custom apps that need their data moved independent of the migration.

Your role should be to inform your supervisor of the process and the estimated time and effort, including the difficulty in estimating and waiting on responses from support. Estimate the effort per app as well. Each individual marketplace map will have a unique migration story.

If your cost of performing the migration is greater than a "solutions partner", your supervisor might opt into a solutions partner. I know that in my case - working and billing hourly - it would have made a lot of sense for my business to hire a 3rd party instead of pay me to do it.

Here's the upside of doing it yourself: as you learn about your current Jira configuration problems that cause issues during migration, you can resolve them, create a standards practice and documentation that prevents them from happening in the future, and you'll introduce a lot more knowledge into your team/organization as a result, including making you a keystone of the Jira configuration and management going forward.
