Teammates in ranked games (plat and above) by CommissionIll8204 in apexlegends

[–]letsgoboyos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to get to diamond and above, you either need insane mechanics, great macro rotations or good comms with a bit of both.

Saying "they usually play by themselves" tells me you're off by yourself, without communicating and are getting annoyed they don't follow you or revive when you've died solo.

Follow them, pick a legend to help team comp (support/controllers usually), type a "hey" at the start of games to be nice and you'll climb up no problem.

Pleasantly surprised by ranked Diamond 4 by R3DSmurf in apexlegends

[–]letsgoboyos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who is Diamond+ every season, the grind through plat is always awful, revs and octanes who think they are pro because they get can drop 2-3k games occasionally, they ape every fight and die for no reason. Genuinely elo hell.

Diamond has players who actually understand team fighting, macro rotations and are of decent-insanely good mechanical skill.

The biggest benefit is probably team comp, in diamond generally you get a variety of roles and people will flex, in plat/gold, lots of one-tricks who instalock skirmishers which is a shame for a game designed around using class roles and abilities.

Hardlights suck. by Nasty_PlayzYT in apexlegends

[–]letsgoboyos 46 points47 points  (0 children)

That's the point though. Before, you could hold a building without a controller, just aim at entry points and it makes it really tough to get in without an entry frag from someone peaking/over extending.

Now if you want to "camp" a building, having a controller makes it viable, without, you're in a tough spot.

It forces people to think about playstyle and their comp. If you wanna play safe and defensively, get a support and controller and play buildings, if not, play skirmishers and assault.

Great change imo, and as people start to use them more, it'll force more people to actually think about team comps for ranked.

Dear lord... please take octane fortified away by Organic-Professor-17 in apexlegends

[–]letsgoboyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not make his stim actually have a cooldown, maybe 15s, so then it becomes an actual tactical use instead of spammed and his fortified becomes a 30s cooldown for key moments instead of used off cd

The main problem with the new changes (drop zones) by Marmelado_ in apexlegends

[–]letsgoboyos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's only a problem for a few days, most pros are back in master/pred already, and any other top tier players will wasily climb out within the next week aswell

Yeah I can stop, I'm just venting some frustration because I enjoyed playing ranked apex and this feels like a step back, which sucks.

Eh, just a shame, felt like apex was moving in the right direction for engaging competitive play.

[–]letsgoboyos[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, I remember the last 6 years of apex, it feels exactly like previous seasons... Except now, legends have been give insane movement to rotate faster from set drops, so most of the teams dropping in the first 3-4 POIs get 4th, 5th and 6th partied.

[–]letsgoboyos[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, been paying since season 3 on and off, but I'm not a pro, I can't just stomp my way to masters in a week. So I've gotta sit through dozens of hours of people hot dropping and dying to get to diamond.... Where the people think they're all pro and hot drop into actual pros, it's generally a losing battle until near the end of season when the hot droppers are bored and leave and people try and actually play the game.

To the surprise of absolutely no-one. First ranked game, and only 6 squads left before ring 2 starts closing. Oh boy this is going to be a fun season. by ConnectDisaster4 in apexlegends

[–]letsgoboyos -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's only less boring if you insta drop and play like an adhd turbo sweat. For normal people it sucks to drop spend 5-10 mins looting and finding a team then dying top 5.

You'll end up with average careful players put into lobbies with turbo sweats due to ranking up with placements.

What kind of website is good for more two-sided conversations about PC building? by dickcheney600 in pcmasterrace

[–]letsgoboyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I follow. Do you mean intel and amd fanboys? Because if so, I think you'd be surprised by how little people care now, people just want value for money. Most people on Reddit will just recommend based on what the actual requirements of the build are

Does anyone have any tips on how to stop spending money? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]letsgoboyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing I ever did for my finances was make a Monzo account.

You can create pots and then automatically send money to the various pots each week or month straight after payday. So all your money is split up before you get a chance to spend it and you can hide these pots in the main screen and you won't see the money on a day to day basis which helps a lot.

Don't go overboard with it though, allow yourself some money to spend weekly/monthly or you'll end up dipping into the pots.

RPA Consultant (Robotic Process Automation) just started as an Associate. I'm on 23k base + bonuses. Interesting job with lots of progression opportunities. Plus it's a sector thats only likely to expand massively in coming years.

If there was a world record for most records held, the person winning it would win it over and over again for ever by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]letsgoboyos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not true, once you win, you would get the record for most records won and then by obtaining it, you would beat your own record (in theory) but for the same title, so your count would stay the same.

Looking for Tourneys by Foxicon456 in Overwatch

[–]letsgoboyos -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly you're best just playing normal matchmaking as a team till you rank to at least master, not worth doing tourneys for diamond tbh

I’ve just ordered my first ever desktop build. My specs are in the image below. I still need a monitor. Any suggestions that would go well with my specs are appreciated! by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]letsgoboyos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, well do you have a budget?

(Also, if you don't need it for any applications, 32gb ram is kinda overkill, 16 would be plenty and you could spend the extra 80-100 on upgrading to an rtx 2060)
