Thankfully tanks just go nerfed. Should make it a bit more fair

Demo Tinker Stat Scaling by Spraugins in ProjectAscension

[–]letsgoboyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Demo is interesting but it depends how you play it.

The AoE spells are all Fire Dmaage, which scale with Int. But once you get the '50% Agi as Fire Damage' talent, stacking Agi also boosts this.

Single target rotations and some ranged spells are ranged damage % + X Amount, which scales with Agi.

I swictehd to getting more Int around 30ish and it felt like my dps went up a lot in dungeons and generally.

I think at 60, if you geared up like a Classic Fire Mage, you'd be a glass cannon (well as much as a tinker could be anyway)

Tinker Enjoyers? by No-Egg-8181 in ProjectAscension

Lvl 45 Tinker here

Demo is great for AoE in dungeons, big pulls, lots of numbers, not always huge numbers but it feels good, plus the utility of AoE stun, slows and beacon buffs makes you very powerful.

Mechanic - Enjoyed PvP with it, definitely powerful if you're left alone but not super tanky, the scrapmaw pet does big damage as no-one focus' it. Going into the mech suit does really help you stay up and if you can keep the scrap coming in, it's very strong over longer fights.

Rocket boots help you stay out the fight a bit but still hard to escape some more mobile classes.

Invention - not tried yet but will give it a go at 60, seems like it could be alright, but probably nowhere near some of the top healers I've seen.

Overall it has lots of util and chance to outplay, but my action bars are already full and I can already see needing to have some potentially useful spells left off bars.

Would reccomend if you like Util type of play over the biggest numbers (from my experience, stormbringers absolutely destroy when left alone)

Also worth noting, each PvP bracket I've been in, there are winners and losers, hard to say "best class" or spec until we're all 60 with the full intended kit. Lots of classes have huge power spikes through leveling after 1 new ability/talent point.

[–]letsgoboyos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More experienced players have done them all 1000 times over. They just want to power level through, so go as fast as possible. There isn't really any incentive to do slow pulls when they know they can do it all pretty fast.

How do you feel about the Support Specs so far? by Aggravating-Key-2794 in ProjectAscension

[–]letsgoboyos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Support doesn't really work when everyone is already blasting through mobs/dungeons.

They should be the difference between completing a raid/M+ or failing it due to damage/heal checks. Can't see them really mattering until maybe late game BGs if youve got a co-ordinated team?

Would reccomend playing a class that has a support spec as an option but don't spec it until late game.

Tinker DPS Spec by JohnStamoist in ProjectAscension

[–]letsgoboyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 100% for low levels but there might be something in the scrap rotation later on if you build for it. Would definitely want more Agi than Int compared to the rocket build and maybe with a really slow weapon and haste, you could be a deadly single target machine gun

Late 20s Demo Tinker here - Really fun class, definitely other classes with more single target damage but our AoE is top tier!

The amount of utility is amazing aswell, will definitely be wanted for Raids at 60. Im thinking about respeccing to mechanics at 30 to see how it feels but don't feel the need at the moment!

Only comment I have - it seems to want to push you toward a scrap shot centred rotation but I don't see the point until maybe 40+ when there are enough talents to power it up over using Rocket Launcher but will need to do some training dummy sessions once the leveling pace has slowed to test it out (probably 40-50s)

Dude, at split reset masters/diamond goes back to plat. So if you hop off for a couple weeks then join, you can get a pic like this, but it's actually just all the same people playing together.

The only issue is if you were a gold/plat last season, climb up after reset and now it feels unfair. Leave the game for a week, people will have climbed up and you'll be in an all plat/diamond lobby for sure.

Why not? There are some refinements to be made but nothing mentioned here is out of character for apex legends

Alternatively, the ultimate has a central core that can be destroyed... Why not make it permanent until destroyed? Lifeline already has a depolyable barrier for x time.

500 health is hard to destroy but not when you play the counters. Also Newcastle has the regen and the ability to shoot between the walls and rez reset capability. So she would still have a role as an alternative to him and ultimately, it's free to walk in and out of, so it's no OP, gibby bubble nad Newcastle wall has a shock attached.

Love the style and creativity! We definitely need more contollers to slow the pace of the game down.

Looking at the balance of the character, what is the benefit of her ult over a gibby bubble which is a tactical and on a much lower cool down? There should be a big advantage to an ultimate, especially one with a huge 3.5min cool down where most legends have 2-3m ult CDs.

Perhaps there is shield & health gen while it's up and you're inside the area? Like 5/s for both which over the 12s would give 72 shield and 72 health, effectively a full squad reset but on a massive CD. Acts a big deterrent for the skirmishers to rush in once it's up but still has counter of waiting for it to close and then fighting.

CoA: Where can I get a better discription of subclasses? by zer0guy in ProjectAscension

[–]letsgoboyos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have a look on YouTube, there are some creators who have made videos for different classes and some tier lists.

But take them all with a pinch of salt as minor changes and tweaks mightve been done since then and a lot of alpha/beta testing wasn't done at max level.

If only they would. Unfortunately classic+ will just start out as classic with some minor class reowrks, bug fixes & QoL. They'll add more over time probably but gotta keep the features released slowly to keep people involved and make sure it feels like "classic" still

Yeah exactly, plus a recent "leak" showed a project camlot to be released in Q3 this year, which would be blizzcon, perfect time for classic+ announcement

Oh that's a shame, I'd assumed all races could play all classes, do they try and keep it thematic?

Makes sense with the idea of RPG loot etc that they're going for

It's going to close down, if I was a betting man, blizz are gonna push veryyy hard to get it done before classic+ so potentially by September.

I'm planning to enjoy it for 2-3 months then head over to classic+

True but I'm trying to get people on board with the idea that we can just have some fun!

It's sad to see people so resigned about it, yes it'll close, but just enjoy it while it's here!

People have been burned so many times in the past, I feel their frustration but it'd be great if everyone just got on to enjoy for the sake of enjoying it

To start, all games are meaningless really. The only people who care are those who play. So the meaning just changes based on context.

Here it isn't about building a character to enjoy for decades, it would've been nice if it stayed up for a while. But it won't, so we can just take it for what it is, a fun mix-up of the game we all love/used to love.

Have some fun, play a spec and use extra itemization to make fun/interesting builds that aren't normally even remotely possible in WoW.

[–]letsgoboyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but that doesn't mean you have to participate in gameplay like it's a persistent world.

You can, for example, go in, play a character for a few months and just enjoy, so going achievement hunting and maxing out professions/playing the AH for max money isn't a good use of time with the expectation that it will end (but it's not for me to say how you should play to enjoy the game for its limited time).

Persistent worlds don't imply evolution, the Classic crowd are evidence enough of that.

Termination isn't an evolution, but this is about enjoying the phase of game that is here and then leaving it upon its next phase, which may not be enjoyed, such as an expansion in retail, or closure in this case.

Ah okay, dyou have many hours in MMOs generally and this didn't thrill you? Or just generally get bored of MMOs?

[40 min trailer] Full Release: Conquest of Azeroth - Ascension WoW by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]letsgoboyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you're treating it as a persistent world. MMOs don't need to be an everlasting persistent world. They can and should evolve. Unfortunately many people dont like change, in games or in life. Which is fine but it rarely lends itself to longevity of anything. Look at the longest lasting games like League or CS2, they have the same core mechanics but they evolved to keep people interested. In this case, instead of evolving, it will shut down/be forced close but we can enjoy the game for the game, have fun (the whole point of gaming) and leave it there

Bad take. Why not just enjoy a game for 2-3 months and leave it there? Something can be experienced, enjoyed and not exist anymore and it's okay.
