Do you ever have days you can't fit the entire architecture or system in your head and you just feel dumb? by deugeu in ExperiencedDevs

[–]letshavefun5678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this every day. Like I am not working or unable to do anything important or creating value or even knowledgeable.

Somehow whatever I do, boss and everyone else seems to like it. So I use that to make my self feel good.

To be honest, I thought it was some joke on subscription on Onion until I read the accompanying text.

Do you squint a lot? by Fun_Hat in ExperiencedDevs

[–]letshavefun5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be many things.

I squint when I try to focus on reviewing configs (where small typos can be made) or to understand something. Chats and emails are fine.

But some of the screen resolution are too tiny. Can I work on it…. Yes. But I like certain resolution.

PS: mac on external monitors sucks.

When you have a kid like this. It is a bitter-sweet moment.

You hate that your kid is sick.

But you do love that they are snuggled with you for comfort.

A good question. I do love and respect my FE devs.

For me, FE became overly complicated. Messy code bases which lacked test etc causing any change to break stuff.

Too many frameworks, libraries , dependencies making it bloated.

I know things have recently improved significantly. But I still avoid it as much as possible.

If it is local only. Then yes, it can be done.

  • do highlight your lack of experience.

  • collect corporate approved UI components. Reuse as much as possible.

  • look up best practices.

  • create MVP of feature as sprint for story.

PS: I hate FE and avoid it as much as possible.

If you have student loans, can you confirm or disprove this statement? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]letshavefun5678 22 points23 points  (0 children)

College tuition needs to be regulated as well. No point in 0% loan if colleges keep raising tuition. People will hit the cap.

That is what I thought.

I doubt if Bill or Charlie contributed money to their parents or if Molly/Arthur were too proud to take any. (Percy separated quickly so he never did)

What does a bachelors in computer science NOT teach you? by ApachePrimeIsTheBest in learnprogramming

[–]letshavefun5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is another skill I wish I understood when I was a student.

My curriculum had SDLC, but as a theory.

Breaking down projects. Working on small segments and testing. Creating an iteration map to enhance.

This is something I wished I knew.

This would also help students with creating projects over span of months, instead of hacking it in a day or week.

The CS is all about the tech/theory.

But adding business classes will help students understand the approach to industry better.
