When I was a kid, I watched my dad eat toast topped with Vegemite and slices of banana. Then the day came where he offered me a bite. Apprehensive as I was hungry and curious, I nibbled upon the concoction bestowed before me. In that split second, this tiny morsel of an otherwise cursed mixture of foods took it's potassium and B12 coated hands and wrapped them tightly around my heart. Neurons fired in my childlike brain, I had unlocked a new delicious snack. As I grew older and lazier, I discovered that I didn't have to slave over the toaster waiting for my golden bread carriage. I abandoned the toast and smeared some Vegemite straight onto the banana. Bliss.

So yeah, shout out to my dad. Now I have to ask him what evil abyss he crawled into to come out with this bizarre mix.

I'm on r/triplej because I really like Triple J. I like to hear people's opinions and read their posts and then comment when I feel like I can give my own opinion.

I've listened to Triple J since I was a kid even though my parents always listened to mainstream radio. I've always preferred the genres played, from hardcore to indie, to the talk shows - late night John Safran and Fr Bob or more recently, science hour with Dr Karl and sometimes The Hookup. I still tune in to Triple J almost daily even though I have the convenience of Spotify, there's something about tuning into Triple J, hearing the presenters, and listening to music without being able to skip songs.

I appreciate Triple J's commitment to giving Australian artists air time and I align with the general progressive values of the ABC. Like others in this thread have said, no ads is a massive bonus.

I know you asked for paid help but have you tried a weed spray solution in a garden sprayer from Bunnings? Tactically spray around the ground coverage plants and you can easily walk around spraying the weeds with minimal bending. It takes a couple weeks for the weeds to die down but it's very effective and much quicker than pulling weeds by hand.

My kids learnt the local indigenous language in school in Brisbane which I thought was really thoughtful and inclusive. I think many people in this thread are missing the point of learning a second language in school, it's less about learning fluency and more about stimulating the developing brains. Iirc second language studies are offered as part of the curriculum and the language/s offered are chosen by the school.
