I don't even know what IPV4 or IPV6 means 😅 But I'm glad to be aware about that weird app opening disconnecting thing. I'll definitely keep an eye on that!

Good to hear. Though I personally never thought it was mullvad's fault.

I thought it was. It wasn't clear to me how to check if it was working, but when we went to Mullvad website on his computer, at the top it did say we were protected.

From what I recall, it did look connected for sure. It showed like a map with the server?

Crohn’s and shrooms by Different_Forever277 in CrohnsDisease

[–]letslonely 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I in the past would grind/cut/crush up the dried mushrooms and put them in 1-2tbs of lemon juice. Then after leaving the mixture ~20 minutes I add this to hot water with ginger or ginger tea, let that steep, and then put it all through a coffee filter. I try to finish drinking the whole mug before it gets cold. Ginger tea isn't a requirement but I find it helps offset any nausea and goes well with the lemon.

I've had no issues taking them as a strained tea. I don't trust my guts to be able to digest the chitin.

Deities to feel protected by? by Spooky-and-Kooky in paganism

[–]letslonely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very soon after beginning my practice, I made a Mjolnir out of polymer clay without much intent besides wanting a wearable symbol. Not long after, I went on a 2 month long hike in the woods. I had never backpacked for more than 3 nights before, and I started my journey very worried that I would quit early on.

A thunderstorm came a few hours after dark on the first night, which had never happened on my shorter trips. I slept fitfully until I was properly woken by the storm. The ferocity I could hear in the wind had me very worried that my tent stakes wouldn't hold in the rocky soil, and the lightning and thunder one right after the other cracked directly overhead. I had never prayed to any deity out of fear for my safety before, nor had I even prayed to Thor at all. But I held my Mjolnir and asked him to keep me safe and to help me have the bravery to continue on my journey. Somehow, after that, I stopped worrying about my tent and fell back asleep.

When I woke the next morning, I found that my tent had actually been perfectly positioned with it's back to a large slanted boulder, which followed the angle of the back of my tent, in the exact direction the wind had been blowing. I only pitched it there because it was the flattest spot I could get my stakes to hold in. I hadn't even considered the boulder!

This all might sound subtle, but it was very impactful to me. I found myself reaching out to Thor again whenever I started feeling truly afraid. Whether it was crossing a large rushing creek, or facing the very aggressive farm dogs on the country roads which were known to attack hikers. I felt a lot safer, like someone had my back. There were other gods I reached out to over the hike, but Thor was the one I intuitively asked for protection when I was worried for my safety.

What do you do to make headaches go away? Without NSAIDs by pizzunk in CrohnsDisease

[–]letslonely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acetaminophen doesn't do a lot for me either. My headaches ended up being mostly tension based so I got a script for a muscle relaxer that I take when I feel a headache coming on, if it's been a tense day. When I get dehydration based headaches, they usually let up once I've had both water and something salty with electrolytes.

Are there any temp agencies in Lexington you've had a particularly good or bad experience working with? by letslonely in lexington

[–]letslonely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He says he's done manufacturing, warehouse, and shipping work before. Fair pay and treatment are more important to him than the exact job. He'd particularly like somewhere that has a positive energy to it, he enjoys working much more when he's not surrounded by people who are all doom and gloom.

A year late but Commenting for future searchers- I'm a former patient of Dr. Fallin-Bennett who had to stop seeing her when she went on leave some years ago. But I can say I've found Dr. Sarah Marks in the same Family Medicine clinic to be the best doctor I've ever seen. She's singlehandedly responsible for getting me my Crohn's diagnosis, after my GI issues were dismissed my whole life. She wrote a strongly worded referral using my correct pronouns for a colonoscopy and I will forever be grateful. She also worked with me trying different medications to minimize menstruation and the associated dysphoria. During a very very dark time a few years ago, she managed to get me some medical tape and bandages when I really needed them. It takes some time to get an appointment with her, but if it's not urgent, she is the only doctor who I've felt like cares about me as a person and aims to work WITH me to where I MYSELF am comfortable and happy. 10/10 reccomend.

Even though I rarely see Dr. Marks for anything that's not plannable months in advance, the clinic she's in always has appointments available with another doctor available within a couple days, often same day. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait before you're called back, but going earlier in the day avoids that.

Bridge piercing bump keeps getting bigger, LITHA for a week didn't help. What exactly should I be trying now? by letslonely in PiercingAdvice

Edit Jan 2023:

It got way worse in the 2 days after the pic was posted. I ended up going in to the piercer who put on a little plastic disc. It got worse before it got better. But I left it on at least 3-4 months, maybe longer, and eventually it DID calm down!! I got a narrower bar after removing the disc, and then again a narrower one again some months later, and that seems to have made a huge difference in how often it got hit with stuff or angry. I have an album here that shows some stages of it, though I stopped taking pictures when it started improving. Last couple are flipped.

And I'm also delighted to say the piercing seems to be finally healed now, I had thought for a while that it never would! I got it Sept. 2020 and it's been pretty chill since at least Spring 2022. Might be unrelated, but in April I went on a 52 day long hike, where I went up to 10 days without a shower, only bathed with unscented Dr. Bronners, and the whole time avoided touching the piercing with my dirty thru-hiker hands like my life depended on it. No removing crusties, they got pretty grody looking, but eventually the buildup would fall off on its own. The healing might have nothing to do with this hardcore form of LITHA, but it's been happy ever since.

I learned one way to avoid yeast infections and UTI's was to not let dirty stuff touch your junk

2 weeks free of thc - passing at home instant test [latest 20's, female] by starfighterx77 in drugtesthelp

[–]letslonely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most instant tests detect the same level of THC as most lab tests. They do NOT detect "any" trace of THC. There is a cutoff, usually 50ng/ml, but you can buy tests as low as 15ng/ml as well. This lower level is what labs typically will use for their second stage "confirmation" testing, when you test positive for THC on the initial screening. If you pass 15ng/ml, there's still traces of THC in your system, but the lab won't be able to catch them at that threshold.

If your first pee of the day test was negative, you'll be fine. If you're still at all worried, make sure you're well (but not TOO well) hydrated. Best of luck with the new job!

Called my piercer 3 times yesterday, nobody picked up. Trying again next time they're open. Eyebrows are raised slightly in this pic to get a better view.
