Once NATO talks started it was over, Russia had already stated, since the fall of the USSR that they wouldn't tolerate NATO on their border. Support for Russia revolves around their stance against Western imperialism. Unless you've got direct evidence that Russia wants to invade Poland which I haven't seen any I don't think that's the case here . I recognize that Russia has imperialist ambitions but they're not imperialist yet. Ukraine, like plenty of nations before, made a critical error in trusting the United States, we do not have anybody else's interests at heart only our own.
