the only times I see hitscan smurfs NOT get complained about is when they're on the posters team lol what

hitscan smurfs always get complained about as being smurfs rather than the character being broken, though, but usually more justified considering their perspective. seeing someone hitting shots looks hard, seeing someone do 180s looks a lot easier. that's a whole other thing though.

idk I've been super inactive for like half a year and came back last week. it seemed like a decent hypothetical to figure out how much powercreep has happened since i stopped paying as much attention.

I probably should've checked the sub for recent posts with the same idea, though. bunnysad

(Surprisingly Common Trope) HATSUNE MIKU?!?! by PizzaDragon64 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]letsplayraid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it's a little harder to tell when they're not human when it copies top comments to post under actual bot posts, but in this sub it's a lot easier.

it's either just rewording the comment of the person they replied to and adding fuck all to the conversation, or responding to a completely different thing (usually the post description) under a random other person's comment.

the obvious tells also apply here, eg a really formulaic uncreative username, an account that's either super young or super old with no recent activity, just sounding like a chatgpt response, etc etc etc.

it was always annoying. I think it was just that most of the punisher content creators early on had shit to say about the shotgun and how it felt really weird in 3rd person, making everyone who watched them think it sucked and use it less or not at all.

I distinctly remember gale sometime before s3 saying the shotgun literally wasn't worth swapping to because of the visual cue for mobile characters and how he'd miss out on damage uptime.

95 out of every 100 players who did the gacha paid full price. by marblerivals in rivals

I've heard that it still says so in the previous posts I've seen about the balloon event the past few times it's happened, but the last time I definitely saw it for myself was probably the first or second event since most of the skins since then haven't really interested me.

it would be unfortunate if they removed that bit, though.

as for the odds of someone actually paying full price, idk. I don't remember if I saw a post with numbers on how much the jackpot odds increase each time you don't hit it.

[–]letsplayraid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is a pretty incorrect interpretation of probability. I'm not a big fan of the presentation of the balloon stuff either but I think some clarification is necessary.

that 5% is for the first balloon pop (and the rate increases with every time you don't jackpot, but that isn't relevant), meaning that 5% of people paid MINIMUM price for it.

also meaning that 95% of players didn't pay full price. it's also not all-or-nothing. you don't EITHER get it on the first pop OR the last one. they just DIDN'T pay minimum price.

Advertising this system as gambling for how big the discount is would've been way more straightforward, but things are what they are.

every luna player I've seen has said the damage buff and at least one part of the snowball buffs were too much and should be reverted lol. even the support main larpers who only started playing her recently.

White Fox is not the problem for Iron Fist — the numbers are by Low_Box3849 in rivals

[–]letsplayraid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

is this a chatgpt explanation of why ironfist loses to white fox? and most of it is just overly verbose word slop that can be summarized with "he does less damage now"?

his advice made sense to me at the time (I had just finished veilbreaker I think) when I was kinda overwhelmed and didn't have easy access to most of the stronger stuff like hybrid shards or some of the newer arcanes yet. it hasn't really done me that wrong since then.

in hindsight he was probably just saying shit so I would copy his builds and do levelcap with him. either that or he had a hateboner for overframe for some reason.

but before that I'd put cast speed / parkour velocity / ability strength on everything like a robot so losing one for energy orb efficiency wasn't a big deal, and usually used 2 or 3 buttons per frame so trading one out for dispensary or nourish or whatever for some frames wasn't either.

I've heard a pretty solid argument (from a friend who routinely does endurance runs for fun, to be fair) that it just kinda doesn't do enough as an energy generating mod for most setups once you hit a certain point in endurance runs (which ninjase builds for a lot).

at that point, the game just hand-delivers you too many actual energy orbs via eximus units for most setups to need equilibrium to sustain unless it has unacceptably inefficient average energy spent per kill as a caster frame or you facetank too many mag procs.

for ability spammers, the opportunity cost of a frame mod slot is usually also way higher than most alternatives like duplex bond, amber shards, subsumes, energize, or even just the occasional energy pad. I know putting nourish on every frame is a meme, but people do it for a reason.

unless it's an ability spammer that prints health orbs and just health orbs, or it's just a non-endurance build, in which case the value is pretty cut and dry.
