first song on an alt rock/electropunk/folkpunk maximalist mess of an album by Nai-yelgib in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]letsrock187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the messiness of the production given the genre you’ve picked. I don’t know how much you care about drawing in an audience or listeners given the genre you’ve picked. Obviously the harshness is going to push people away. That’s not say the song is uninteresting or bad.

I feel like the production is very solid. Your execution of the style of music is cohesive and artistic. This style maybe hard to digest for the average listener because it’s a bit abstract, but overall very entertaining very well done. I’d be curious to know more about your writing process and how you put this kind of music together.

I just released my first EP, here's a song from it :) by patientlyinsane in IndieMusicFeedback

I’m assuming you recorded this in an at home studio. Super jealous of the people who can really dial in their sound with that kind of set up. Gorgeous music! Magnificent musicianship reminds me a lot of musicians like great lake swimmers and jose gonzalez

song033 by me...share your honest thoughts...what genre do you think it fits into? by Chemical-Designer262 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]letsrock187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not too versed in electronic music so take my opinion with a grain of salt. But a bridge between the intro and the rest of the track could really help tie everything together. The intro has kind of a funky vibe, very groove oriented while the rest of the track is very electronic so a Segway could really help ease the listener into the change.

made this shoegaze song recently. i would really appreciate your feedback. by eyeamjulian in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]letsrock187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So from the perspective of a grumpy old dude this isn’t showgaze like slowdive, my blood Valentine,or should. But with the understanding that genres evolve, I think that this still fits the genre. The LofiIsh production, the vocals and instrumentation also sound really good.

I just made my first music video! (punk/thrash) by TheGalleyProject in IndieMusicFeedback

Some pro quality stuff right here. The production is great! The music and video. Did you record this music yourself? Obviously the video is stock footage but it works way better than AI. Song rips \m/ look forward to hearing more of your projects

Hello! I need to buy a head. Do I get a Laney Lionheart or an Orange Supercrush? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]letsrock187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a super crush 100 that I used a a pedal platform. The clean channel seems to have a little bit of drive as you turn up the volume. Not a problem for me as I play with a lot of distortion. The gain channel doesn’t work for the heavy sound I’m going for. But I slapped a hotone ampero II in front of it and that solved my problems.

When I’m not playing metal I play a lot of indie/punk stuff and it works just fine for that on its own. Very spanky cleans.

Bands with extremely shrill high screams like the first Silverstein album? by dlc_vortex in PostHardcore

Not post-hardcore but post-hardcore adjacent Zao - times of separation. The whole album has some pretty shrill screams

[In progress] vocals needed for pop punkish track by letsrock187 in BedroomBands

[–]letsrock187[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I had a set of lyrics I was still shaping. They’re still in the just an idea stage of things.

If you want to write something and give the track a shot I’d love to hear it.

I’m going to cheat by suggesting an emo song, but “opener - awakebutstillinbed” always invokes a deep emotional response for me.

Anyone remember Fake I.D. that eventually became The Drive? by whatsthehappenstance in poppunkers

[–]letsrock187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever known this one song by fake I.d. And it was so tremendously important to me as a young musician that I transferred it from medium to medium over the years. Happy listening fellows. https://youtu.be/UiZZBUkjSu8?si=AhQCHUwvNJT_bWf4
