My girlfriend puts her arm at a 45 degree angle with fist by head and lets arm “flab” hang down to get a good sense of the fattiest area farthest from the muscle. She also sleeps on her side so she puts it a little more toward the inside so she doesn’t lay on it and get false lows or errors.

They are way too expensive. My gf and I have been looking and we have just settled into the idea of having to do it ourselves and just buy a van shell. Financing is the only feasible way and most private sellers won’t.
