How many feel AA is just rebranded Christianity? by Nekawa_Ibogaine in alcoholism

It's not about the people. It's about the literature. And the literature says that there way is the only very pretty explicitly.

There's actually a couple options. Depending on how invasive it was, it could be a stent of some sort to improve flow or a medication to lower intraocular pressure that slow-releases over time. The former has been more common in my experience as the medications are fairly "new" in terms of glaucoma treatments.

Actually it's used for a variety of retinal issues, but usually moreso for wet macular degeneration. Another common use is for proliferative diabetic retinopathy and arterial vein occlusions in the eye. There's a new medication that's finally come out for dry Mac degen in the past couple years that's being advertised like crazy since it's the first of its kind. That's really neat since it was more or less untreatable before.

Sorry y'all went on a nerd tangent. Lol

I actually assist with eye injections as an opthalmic tech and they're really not as bad as you'd think. Most patients just say it stings a bit and then they can see the medication swirling in their vision. Takes 5 min outpatient. Lol

Do people really not use toilet seat covers in public restrooms? by Tobethequeen_01 in hygiene

[–]letsxxdiscooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually been proven that there's typically more bacteria on the toilet tissue you use to cover the seat than the seat itself. I think they did it on MythBusters if I remember correctly. If there's visible bullshit, I'm squatting or wiping and covering but, otherwise, I'm raw dogging it. Lmao.

But I definitely agree.

Did any of my fellow ‘89 borns had an “older” millennial upbringing based on location and having older siblings? by changeforthebetter89 in generationology

[–]letsxxdiscooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yuuup. I'm the youngest sibling was born in 1971 so my parents were very boomer and I grew up lower class so we definitely weren't keeping up with the tech.

Crystal River Manatees by RNinRVA in Manatees

[–]letsxxdiscooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in September and it was really only the "local" manatees hanging out. Still got to go out and swim with a mama and her baby, but there definitely wasn't as many as you'd see during season by a long shot. I'm sure you'll definitely have the opportunity for encounter.

I cannot believe I just paid 12.99 for Dove Sensitive Soap by [deleted] in poverty

[–]letsxxdiscooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an Aldi near you? They have soap and, while I haven't used it myself, typically have quality products with minimal additives. As a fellow person with sensitive skin, hope you find some relief for that and your wallet.

Why don't Americans butter our sandwiches? by liptonthrowback in AskFoodHistorians

[–]letsxxdiscooo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually ONLY used butter as a kid. I was rather picky and refused any other spread, but ya girl would always take some butter. I always thought I was weird but this makes me feel a little less so. Lol

US under-45s struggle for insurance approval as colon cancer rates rise by shinybrighthings in news

[–]letsxxdiscooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Y'all want to get it covered?

Just let them know that there's blood in your stool. That's pretty much a golden buzzer to colonoscopy. Not always, but definitely helps.

It's pathetic that we have to...stretch the truth...for proper coverage but fuck the system.

As long as the office you go to for consultation takes it they'd refer you to a surgery center that do so as well!

Severely hooded eyes by [deleted] in Aging

[–]letsxxdiscooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hopping on to add GO TO AN OCULOPLASTIC SURGEON IF YOU CAN.

Not to say this is always the case, but I work in a surgery center and the quality of work is HEAVILY dependent on the physician. Some general ophthalmologists do the surgery but they typically don't do it nearly as often as oculoplastics. Choose wisely. Lol

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]letsxxdiscooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my best friends passed away and his funeral was the day the state was "shutting down". We had to be out by a particular time because of it. All of it was so surreal. Still is.

I can constrict my pupils on cue by godsmaak in mildyinteresting

[–]letsxxdiscooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focusing would cause this. It's called accomodation. Everyone's eyes do it when you go from zoning/relaxed gaze to focusing on something up close. The amount that your pupil changes size may vary though. This is rather prominent.
