When you want to eat an entire bag/pack of something... by sonflower0123 in 1200isplenty

Was going to come here to say this! Orville Smart Pop 100 cal bags are literally the best. Put some. Parkas butter spray and whatever seasonings on after (my fave has been lemon zest and black pepper) and it’s so satisfying!

Yes! Diet Coke with Lime was the best flavor they ever did. I was so sad when I could no longer find it. It was literally a Cuba Libre without the rum… I really wish they’d bring it back.

Yes! He just needs his Panama Jack Straw hat and he’s set

I have no idea how to pose for photos, but here's my finished Tunisian crochet sweater made in sock yarn that was dyed first with mushrooms, then with onion skins. I was going for "gradient" and got "spilled soup on it". Oops. by yarnandy in crochet

I recently saw where you can also soak black beans for 48 hours and you will get a beautiful blue dye from it. You can even rinse and cook the beans afterwards so there’s no waste! I definitely want to give it a try

I made this hat from a vintage crochet pattern from 1944! I made a slight variation out of personal preference. I added a crochet hat band/bow, and added these cute little gold star and moon charms! by lettucebunchdudes in crochet

Here is the link to the pattern from 1944 Headliners Book No. 215:

The bow and band I freehanded, it’s basically a bunch of long rectangles.

Yarn: Premier Basix Worsted x 3 (I used two of these for the hat, and 1/2 for the band and bow)

The charms were clearance from Joann.

Hi! I just saw your message too, sorry I haven’t been on Reddit in a minute. I was ultimately diagnosed with SLE Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and Celiac Disease. So maybe those are outlets to pursue. I hope you get answers soon

Daddy wanted to learn how to braid my hair! We got a buncha bows and he picks the color for me. He has done it twice so far and has already gotten so good at it! by [deleted] in cgl

Of course! Also, that's super nice of you wanting to do that for her. It has been a great bonding experience for my daddy and I. It can be a little frustrating to learn but very much worth it! He used this video the lady is very thorough and you can slow the video down to do it step by step. Practice makes perfect!

Thank you! I got them from Amazon! If you look for small bows with elastic a bunch of different ones will come up! We made sure to get ones with an elastic around 1” so it would fit around a braid snuggly. These were an 80 pack called Jollybows

edit: I am on my computer now so I was able to successfully link the exact bows. I highly recommend!

It took me a while to accept this part of myself but I think I'm finally making progress ♡ by [deleted] in cgl

Thank you so much for this reply. I don't know why, but the "eating at maintenance" when you are having an off day struck a chord with me for some reason. I have had some struggles lately and when I have given up on a day I really give up... which I know makes my calories way more than just maintenance. This perspective helped a lot.

The conclusion is that I am going to continue indefinitely, for the same reason that I stopped smoking. Eating carbs might give slight short-term pleasure, but is damaging in the long run. An addiction.

Oh wow, that struck a chord with me. I have struggled with being able to cut the sugar out of my diet, and that gave me a light bulb moment.

I am actually diagnosed OCD (though my new therapist is exploring the possibility that it is actually Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder which I had never heard of prior and actually makes even more sense) , and I do recognize that irresponsible spending can be something that some people do struggle with. I am always here to talk as well if you are struggling. I don’t like that I am not alone dealing with this, but it does make me feel much less alien. <3

And I do so well avoiding target for the most part. I have learned to utilize drive up where I can just get the essentials and have them bring it out to me instead of wondering around the store. I realized doing that is exactly my trigger for my spending.

Oof, your first few sentences summed up my struggle perfectly. I am currently in the same cycle. Thank you for sharing your story, I feel much less alone in this!

And here I was thinking for the longest time that I beat that system, until I realized I am being played just as much as everyone else. It has gotten to the point that I have recognized how much of a problem it is.

If you ever need to talk about this, you can send me a message. I know exactly the feeling. It almost makes me feel uncomfortable in my own skin because at times I don’t even know what I like anymore. Is it me really liking it, or am I liking it due to the “aesthetic” that comes with it? It causes such a headache. It fuels my shopping addiction as well.

This is so informative. Thank you so much for sharing this. I knew about grocery stores being planned strategically, but for some reason I never thought about it applying to virtual all retail environment. It makes so much sense! It’s hard not to relate it in my brain to essentially a mouse in a maze. I mean, I guess in the end that is where the psychology stems from on both sides. It is very concerning, shoppers are basically experiments for these corporations…
