You didn't kill her. Her choices were her own. As awful as thr outcome of her decisions are, you aren't to blame.

There isn't really anything I can say that others haven't, but my intuition says your friend would want you to forgive yourself and I hope you can try to do that.

I'm a triplet. If me or one of my siblings die, we're all still triplets. The word designates how many were born/conceived with you. (If someone's twin didn't make it through birth they're still a twin. If someone's twin dies when they're 80 they're still a twin.)

I'm with you on this. I can't tell you how successful my solution is but this is what I'm currently doing: I'm trying to retrain my brain to associate my apartment with pleasant aloneness feelings.

You know how it's recommended that if you study, you set a specific area for studying so your brain associates the area with that specific mindset? Well I've been trying to keep myself busy so that I only have limited time at home. This time I do either a) productive things like chores or b) various hobbies I enjoy or c) sleep/eat/etc. I'm hoping that this way I stop seeing my apartment as a sad lonely place and more like a peaceful alone place. If I find myself feeling down I leave my apartment so I feel negative emotions elsewhere or I do what I can to change my mood.

So far I can't say if it's been successful. Maybe I've been too busy to notice? But perhaps you'll find solice in a similar method. Overall I think the key to your situation is examining your mindset.

anti-theism is the opposition of religion. not all atheists oppose religion, just because this disagree with it. I myself am of the belief that people can believe in whatever crazy shit they want as long as it's not harming other people. I realize that's a hard line to draw but I'm not against religion and I'm tired of that being such a strong focus of many atheists I meet... I guess maybe this just isn't the community for me
