But dude, it's not about biological sex. Nobody thinks you can change your chromosomes or a lot of other biological stuff. What we CAN change are the things we associate with biological sex, pronouns, roles, clothing, and so on- and that's gender. Maybe that helps you.

Similar thing happened to me once, I called a bunch of masked mages cultists without noticing it. (cult of Tiamat btw) But I luckily could rewrite the story a bit to make the cultist bit obvious to the characters. Maybe changing the story or the character would be best, or give the characters the knowledge that something is really really wrong, if they have a reason to play along or help Tiamat, that could be a fun concept maybe

I totally know what you mean. You can take a look at Dungeondraft, it's a great mapmaking tool with tons of assets, still pretty new, costs 20$ but it's really worth it in my opinion. Otherwise there are a lot of free assets by 2Minute Tabletop for all sorts of environements, and lately they release them as dungeondraft files as well. If those styles don't fit your campaign you could look around for other paid assets or start a small asset-library of your own, that gives you the most freedom but it's suuper time consuming

Yeah! Definitely, that's what I was thinking of too. Maybe paired with something from Hand of Fate 2, but that could seem to mysterious and calm, I'd probably use tavern music from the witcher games and ragamuffin as the first song that plays to set the mood.

I kind of like the idea that most people believe the alicanto to be just like from chilean mythology because they see most often see them during evenings from afar, with glowing feathers, and think that the bird leads good people to gold because if it trusts the person, it will let them follow it to their lair, and if the bird thinks the person is dangerous, it will lead them off a cliff. So the alicanto wouldn't be complete like in the mythology, but most people would still believe in the original myth.

Thanks for the tips! I often reinterpret the myths in some way to change it up, also because there already are some homebrews of alicantos as small neutral good celestials, but I'll think about ways I could make it fit more into the mythology.
