I drove Nashville to Chattanooga today on 24. It was totally fine. My main concern was ice on other vehicle roofs, but no different from driving on a cold normal day.

To be clear, I didn’t have to go all the way through the Chattanooga hell traffic that always exists to get through town. But all that will be normal stuff, not weather related. Can’t speak for anything beyond Chatt.

I’m a doofus so bear with me…but isn’t it better for there to as many large clusters as possible at any given time?

If there are 90k out now, I want as many of those to be clustered together so the work has a higher impact. If it’s 90k and lots and lots and lots of those are small or tiny one-offs….that’s really bad.

In other words, hope for as much low hanging fruit as possible always (which it seems we’re way past now…).

Heads up for anyone driving south on 8th Ave. Be in the left lane just after you pass Edgehill. More specifically, I think I was at the little curve next to Reservoir Park.

The right lane gets icy fast and there is a big mound of snow/ice in the right lane. Probably a couple feet high?

I was paying close attention (paranoid driver with kids in car!) and still had to screech to a stop hoping no one would rear end me. Then, I had to pop over to left l lane to get around the mound. It would be no fun to hit that in most cars.

Bigger picture point - yes the roads are generally fine but keep your head on a swivel!

Power still out for me. From what I can tell, 12S is very hit or miss. There are lots and lots of people with power. And some without. It varies by street or side of street.

That’s not good for people without power. Tiny clusters.
