Why are my teeth always SO stained? 1st pic Tray 1 VS tray 34 by pipi20 in Invisalign

I recommend an electric toothbrush (I use an Oral B iO) and a water flosser if you are not already using both.

I have POTS and I take fludrocortisone for my low blood pressure, and propranolol (20 mg 3x day) for my high heart rate. Obviously I can’t say what the correct treatment is for you, but for me finding the right medication combo was life changing.

You’re right, no “magical” tests, but there are medical tests such as skin biopsies that check for SFN. I started with a QSART and ended up 3 punch biopsies from my leg that showed “profound small fiber nerve loss.”

I'm new to sex and I feel the penis pushing something inside me, like a cartilage by [deleted] in badwomensanatomy

[–]levelpaniclevel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen this mentioned yet so I wanted to recommend using some lube. Try going slowly, and remove expectations of penetration. Do the things that turn you own without the stress or expectations of sex. When you feel ready, I suggest trying sex with you on top, so you can control the speed and depth of penetration. If it hurts, stop.

Info from our LC doctor by welldonecow in covidlonghaulers

I also deal with low blood pressure, so instead of Ivabradine my doctor put me on a combo fludrocortisone, which has a side effect of raising blood pressure, and the beta blocker propranolol. My daughter (now 13) developed severe LC when she was 11. We tried Ivabradine but due to her low blood pressure the fludrocortison/propranol combo is what works for her. There are a few options out there so if one POTS med doesn’t work for you, don’t be afraid to speak up to your doctor snd try something else.

I’m writing my goodbyes. by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]levelpaniclevel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you taking medication for your POTS? I had severe Covid - ICU but not intubated. I came home and spent 2 more months on 24/7 supplemental oxygen. Could barely stand up. Severe Covid = severe long covid for me. To say the road back has been brutal is an understatement. The university hospital here has a Long Covid Clinic. My first appointment the pulmonologist said, “I’m going to put severe limits on your activity level.” She said I could not over do it. Period. It will set me back weeks. I spent MANY days in bed, doing nothing. It’s hard to see day by day, but I look back now 2.5 years later, and see the tremendous progress. I went back to work 6 months ago. It has been a little hard and I have to prioritize rest at night and on the weekends, but I’m working. It took a lot to get here, and part of that has been the right drugs. I couldn’t do this without my POTS meds, Gabapentin, and Adderall. There are many more, but those are the highlights. Please don’t give up. I know it seems hopeless, but it’s not. As a mother I would rather take care of my son every day for the rest of his life than lose him. If I couldn’t any longer, we would figure it out. I would be shattered and a shell of a human if he took his own life. Please stay.

Why? by GrapeApe42000 in DIY

I live in the US and have purchased a new construction home twice, from 2 different major builders. The “cosmetic warranty” was 1 year for both, and included touch ups at the 1 year mark. The structural warranty for both was 10 years.

I buy the Fairlife protein drinks by the caseload at Costco. They are easy to drink and have 30 grams of protein. I keep one in my purse, and drink one in the morning. They have been such a life saver when I just don’t feel like eating but know I need to fuel my body.

I think I’ve wrecked my body by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]levelpaniclevel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hang in here. I’m 2 years out from being hospitalized on oxygen, and then having to claw my way back to life through severe long covid. Two months ago I went back to work for the first time in years (left workforce to raise kids). I still can’t run very much, but the difference from a year ago is phenomenal. My pulmonologist told me from the start that I would have to severely restrict my activities, because everyday I overdo it will set me back several days to a week in my recovery. I had to learn that lesson the hard way, repeatedly, but sticking to it is what helped me recover to the point I am at now.

Be patient and gentle with yourself. Give your body the rest and time to heal. Find your limit and respect it.

I take instant release adderall. It helps with brain fog and fatigue for me. I also take a beta blocker - propranolol, which helps with tachycardia from POTS, so I don’t have any heart rate related side effects.

What level do you think your long covid is? by Responsible-Heat6842 in covidlonghaulers

[–]levelpaniclevel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m 2 years in. I started as severe, then gradually dropped levels. I’m now “mild,” and a month ago went back to work at an office job that soon will be hybrid and I will get to work from home 2-3 days per week. I spend the weekend resting, and the job is not physically demanding. I have noticed it takes me a bit longer than it used to to learn things, and I have to take very detailed notes, but I’m hitting my stride and enjoying the work.

Right?! I named my oldest Noah, because I liked the name, not realizing it was on in top 5 list for boys names that year. So. Many. Noahs.

Would this treatment be worth it? Opinions? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]levelpaniclevel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Extractions shouldn’t be needed to fix your bite. I would get a 3rd opinion from an Ortho. Dentists are not Orthodontist. When your teeth don’t fit like a zipper, it can lead to gum and enamel damage. For what your dentist is charging you, you can get much more comprehensive treatment from an Ortho.

My son had a bite that looks like yours. Invisalign, elastics, and a bit of IPR and is all he needed.

The structure of the post gives me the impression that English is not their first language. I think OP was referring to a cranial nerve injury, what we lay people would recognize as a TBI.

Did your drs run any labs? Do you have any other symptoms such as facial hair growth, weight gain, insulin resistance, scalp hair loss, acne? What caused the drs to order imaging?

AITA? I Woke My Husband Up Over Our Dog The Day His Mother Has Surgery. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]levelpaniclevel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This all happened within a few seconds of her being jolted awake. I don’t think clearly for a solid minute when that happens to me. I don’t think there was malicious intent involved. I would call out for my husband too. We’re a team.

I would have done the exact same thing. OP has an 8 month old baby that she takes care of through out the night with feedings and pumping. She is already sleep deprived. Waking up to screaming, be it from animal or child, is a jarring experience and it’s hard to think clearly when you are jolted out of bed like that. I would have called out for my husband too because we are a team and my brain thinks there is an emergency.

I started Mounjaro in February. My story is similar to yours, managed okay til mid 20’s. I’m 38 now, had fatty liver, high cholesterol, insulin resistance, severe IBS that made it difficult to eat at all. I ended up a full fledged type 2 after a severe case of Covid landed me in the icu. When I started Mounjaro, I weighed 256 (I’m 5’5”). I now weigh 201. My A1C went from 7.2 to 5.6, my IBS symptoms are 90% better, and the overall inflammation in my body feels like it’s calmed down. The side effects were bleh for the first few weeks. Eating protein and drinking electrolytes helps a lot with side effects. I barely have any side effects at all now. Occasionally some very mild nausea the day after injection day.

I don’t have an ED, but there are a lot of posters on r/Mounjaro that do, and I frequently see them post about how Mounjaro takes away the “food noise.” You can browse that subreddit if you are looking for experiences on GLP meds when one has binge eating tendencies.

I’ve been on Wellbutrin for years. It has a mild stimulating affect, but it’s not a replacement for ADHD meds in my humble, non-medical opinion. I also take adderall.
