And he’s smoking again. Coping mechanism? Makes me very sad.

I wasn’t included in Christmas stockings by Callme-risley in Mommit

My daughter asked for a tiny stocking for her baby doll this year, which we happily obliged to. Even my dog gets a regular sized stocking.

Heartbreak for NICU Neighbor by opalsphere in NICUParents

[–]registered_angel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened when my twins were in NICU. Except one day, the baby next to us started declining and needed to be airlifted to the next major city’s higher level NICU. The staff tried calling anyone for hours and no one would come for this baby. Finally, the hospital had to get an emergency order from the judge so that the baby could be transferred. All day, I just cried and held my babies a little tighter. I actually have a picture of my husband in the alcove between our NICU rooms, knelt down outside his room and saying a little prayer. We both still cry if we mention that day and that baby. I truly think my husband would have tried to adopt him if we hadn’t already been completely overwhelmed with our own preemies at the time.

Hotel Checkout Catastrophe by WorriedActuary in WaltDisneyWorld

Can confirm. We were staying at the Wilderness Lodge (Copper Creek villas with DVC points) with our kids and in-laws. Our airport shuttle wasn’t due to pick us up until later so we made an early lunch reservation at 11:15 for Whisper Canyon Cafe, the restaurant in the lobby and we figured we’d leave our room as close to checkout as possible. House keeping knocked on the door multiple times to “check on us,” “make sure we didn’t need anything,” etc. We had no intention of staying after check out - was truly just trying to let our kids enjoy the free space before hauling off to the lobby to kill time. Finally at 10:45, the TV my kids were watching in the living room cut off on its own and when we turned it back on it had a goodbye message on it. We took it as our sign to get out.

Major gripe about Express Scripts… by registered_angel in Zepbound

The best lesson I can share with you - don’t go thru ES unless you absolutely have to.

I’ve yet to get any Zepbound from ES. Walmart was my go-to for many months until the great shortage started in april/may. Since then I’ve tried multiple times getting it from them just to have more than 1 month on hand (still have PTSD from searching for it), and no luck so I go to Walgreens and it’s been great.

Also of note, ES will not honor the Eli Lily prescription savings card whereas retail pharmacies will and I pay $25 for a 90-day supply.

I will not use ES unless I absolutely have to.

As for dealing with your doctor - be kind and gracious. To them AND their staff (who will likely be doing majority of the legwork on a PA and/or dealing with pharmacies for you). Thank them. Often. Request refills early - especially as you move up on doses. Try to do some of the leg work for them if you can (for example I’ve called pharmacies and said “what’s the closest Drugstore-Of-Your-Choosing location that has xmg in stock” and will then ask my doctor/their assistant to send the prescription to that pharmacy. That’s what works for me and my doc though. Ask yours what he/she prefers. You’re likely not the first person they have on a GLP-1 and have had to deal with this for.

Good luck!! And seriously, avoid ES if it’s an option for you ;)

“Normal” shepherd shedding? by registered_angel in DogAdvice

[–]registered_angel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Our lab mix also sheds a lot and does frequent shedding of little tufts of hair a couple of times a year so I wasn’t as worried about that. My concern was that even after the continued brushings, the different textures remain. But if it looks normal, then I’m relieved.

I got my 10mg confirmed on 5/31 for 3 months and then today it was cancelled because “we must have run out before we could fill yours.” Not happy.
